Hi, I've got a few questions/remarks and hope that some players can shine their light on it. I started with guildwars about 2 months ago, yes I know it's rather late after the release, and although I like playing alone with henchman, some missions seem very difficult without real "thinking" people in the group. Since I play missions with others I notice that some name their opponent before rushing in (like: I'm going for...).
What do I need to do, kill that one with that person? Leave that opponent to that player? Does that mean all the rewards from that opponent automaticaly go to that player (because that seems a bit unfair if you always go for the boss and get the best rewards)?
Some people tell everything they do (like I'm using shout, i'm using flare ) What is that good for and if there is a use, how do they type so fast, or is there a shortcut to put it in the screen?
What good are two handed staffs? I have trouble keeping my elementelist alive with a shield.
Is it just my lousy playstyle or is monk as a first or second proffesion way better than the rest because of the healing ability?
I've got a shield with armor +10 (need 9 tactics) and a shield with armor +8 which needs nothing. 9 Tactics for just 2 armor seems a bit overcosted or do I miss something about armor. Shields seem to be not too effective anyway because even my shoes are armor 30.
What happens with your attributes if you get to level 20? Do you still get skillpoints to make them higher or do they stay at that level?
I know it is a lot to ask but I hope to get some answers and I couldn't find these things in any book.
Last but not least. I know there is an advanced strategyguide for guild wars. Is that thing downloadable or does somebody here have it?

1)It's better to call a target so that you kill the one FASTER, You see it's better like : 2 enemies down and 2 left then 4 enemies with 50% health.
2)Hold you Control and click on your levelbar, skill, weapon or enemies bar(that red thing above).
3)2 handed staffs gives more energy= more dmg.
Shield gives more support, but it's not for an ele, you need to get some armor, check the capitcal cities for armor
4) Not really, My warrior is a W/E because i like the Conjure flame+Axe (before i stopped with gw)., if you are mo/x , good healing, x/mo lesser good, not worth
5)You still get the armor bonus, but you won't get the FULL of it, because you need a req
6)No, when you are at LV 20 , you got all atributes points, but 50 left , you can get those with quests in Droknar Forge (Proph),Factions in the Beginner island,(Nightfall) Sunspear great hall
7)The best option is Wiki or just the forum :)
greets

Well, the general action when someone "Calls a target" is attacking the same target as that person. Simply press t and attack. They call a target to get help from the others so that opponent dies faster.
And people calling out what they use is generally just a show off, it doesn't really have a use only when it's for ressurection it's handy. And you can do the same by holding down Ctrl and pressing 1 to 8 and you'll be calling out that your using a skill. For example 4 is Fire storm on a elem, when you press ctrl+4, you say in team chat, I'm using Fire Storm.
2 handed staffs have really no advantage above the 1 handed wands. I generally use 2 handed staff's as i find them generally better looking =).
Well Monk is a good proffesion no doubt at that and it's handy for the self healling, but some people also use others for extra dmg for example. It really depends on the player what they wan't to use.
Well your right, the 2 armor doesn't make a lot of difference but on the long end it will. The max armor of a shield is 16 and the requirments for it can be between 8 to 14 or so i believe.
Well till your 20st level you get attribute points for each lvl and in every chapter also 2 different quest with 15 attributes points added. The max attribute points is 200. Once you reach lvl 20 you can still level up sort of speak but you wont get further then lvl 20, you just get a extra skill point for every time you "lvl up" after lvl 20.
And the Prima guide for GW is handy i admit, add me on msn(pm me with your addy) and i see if i have it for you =)
Greetings
Lady Yunie

WELCOME TO GAMEAMP! ^^

Most of the time players call the most important target (with crtl+space) so that everyone knows: We have to kill that one first (most of the times it's the monk).
And the drops are always shared, so you don't have to be afraid about getting nothing. If it would be that way, nobody is willing to become a monk ;)
| QUOTE | | Some people tell everything they do (like I'm using shout, i'm using flare ) What is that good for and if there is a use, how do they type so fast, or is there a shortcut to put it in the screen? |
Oops I already typed that answer. There are a few different ways:
-ctrl + space (while having enemy selected): I'm attacking \"...\"
-crtl + 1-8 (while have enemy/ally selected: I'm using \"...\" on \"...\"
-ctrl + click: Many options! If you click your skills in town it will say your build to the rest of the party. If you use it in game it will say \"I'm using .. on ..\". If you click on your weapons it will say \"I'm wielding a ... and a ...\".
| QUOTE | | What good are two handed staffs? I have trouble keeping my elementelist alive with a shield. |
Wow, now that's a hard question wich doesn't have one answer. Do you use fire, air, earth or water? And there are so many staffs that there isn't \"one best\". It all depends on your build (skills and att points)
| QUOTE | | Is it just my lousy playstyle or is monk as a first or second proffesion way better than the rest because of the healing ability? |
Also a question wich doesn't have one answer. Most of my characters have the /mo profession BUT later in game you can change you 2nd profession in any profession you like (and you can switch professions in towns and outposts, so you will have a fitting build for every quest/mission.

Yes you did miss something ^^ The 10 armor only works when you have 9 tactics. I think you don't have any att points in tactics (Elementalist/Warrior is a weird combo) so you don't get any armor at all.
Besides, it's not recommended as an ele to wear stuff that gives you extra armor. It's better to stay at the background when assaulting and try to avoid getting hit (if enemies attack you, you run away (BACK). This is also very nice for the monk in your party, because it's easier to heal a Warrior than an Ele.
| QUOTE | | What happens with your attributes if you get to level 20? Do you still get skillpoints to make them higher or do they stay at that level? |
You will have 170 attribute points when reaching lvl 20. After that, you will gain skillpoints and not levels (you can buy new skills with it). Also you don't get any more attribute points, but there are 2 quests that give you another 30 attibute points (15ea) wich makes a total of 200.
I can recomend this ;) If you need help with that, just PM me.

No problem mate.

Sorry never have seen that, but after 21 months of playing I don't think I need it anymore ^^
I hope I answered all of your questions with this. If you still have questions or need any helping mission or w/e, just add Slayer Blazings ;)

uuuuuuh, .....well......you see....in the beginning it seemed a very good combo...sorry...shame, shame...
Dealing damage with elementalist and then the final kill with warrior skills if the enemy came close. But now that he is level 17 it gets hard.

Oh well it's your first account. I know my first char was a Ranger/Elementalist who use fire storm and a wand xD
My advise is to change 2nd prof into mesmer (for energy management) or monk (for healing/unlimited res).
Again, PM me in game if you need any help/advise.
