Trust me when GW2 comes out. There will be no more monks or they will be monks not very supportive of their teammates anymore. I'm asking why are they disabling the mouse from being able to target walk? Pretty much how am I suppose to heal people? Seriously the c bracket doesn't really even work for me at all. I have tried using it. You can't exactly target someone single out easily with it. Maybe I'm the only one who has this problem. I am not sure, but all I can say is that I won't be buying GW2 for just this reason. I love being a monk, only char I'll ever use. I don't wanna change professions to be different char that I have no interest in. Does anyone know why they're doing this? When its really going to effect a lot of cast spelling chars even probably the rits?

You know how hard it'll be to use the arrows and the numbers while using the mouse at the same time? It's going to be almost impossible to pull off.

Well, clicking to move with the mouse has NOTHING to do with healing.
I don't see your concern.

You have to be able to run and move around while trying to heal people. You know during AB and even missions? You can't just stand in one place while healing someone. You'll just die.

Thats why we have WASD keys.
One hand on mouse, other on those keys.
Click ally -> use skill -> move -> repeat.

I do not use the arrows. I use W A S D keys. That would be hard and make me cramp.
Bracket keys? Don't use those. I just click my ally in the pary menu.
Sorry if I am confusing you.

Okay..listen.. I use the mouse to run and heal alright? They're disabling the mouse where you can't walk anymore with it. I find it harder to use the arrows or the wasd. To move while clicking on a person name then to heal them.

you walk around with the mouse by clicking the ground to move, and select allies w/o the window by the mouse, sounds un-nessessarily hard imo.

Click to move is faster and more accurate and makes you a billion times harder to hit when you're kiting. Trust me from a warriors perspective. I don't have numbers to back this up, but when you're kiting with WASD it's alot easier for me to blow you up. I'm not sure why, but it's true. Click to move>WASD.
Also, where is this information from? I'd expect the controls to be able to be setup however you want, and the interface to be fully customizable. Just like it is now.

Guild Wars 2 without healing monks? You'll have to show me the link before I believe that.
As for the movement/healing, I'm afraid I don't understand your situation.
I use the WASD keys for moving forward/back/right/left.
Mouse is used to click partymembers.
The 12345678 keys on top of the letter blocks are my spells. 1 being the skill I use most.
Like said above, your method of playing seems overcomplicated.

I prefer WASD keys since for me personally it gives more sense of character control. However; i use the QRX keys aswell for kiting; turning etc O.o

If you find it difficult to use W A S D setup, go play a First Person Shooter game for a week, with standard W A S D controls. I guarentee you will find it much easier to get around.
As rogue said though, clicking is much more accurate, but at the same time, its slower. Clicking around to move requires you to take your mouse away from the party menu, meaning you wont be able to get back to click on a dying ally as fast as if you used W A S D and kept your mouse in the party menu.
And as to Rogue, my guess on why its easier to hit someone kiting with W A S D....when you click, the game is send direct coordinates of where your character is in the game world. With W A S D, there are no coordinates, instead you basically tell the server "I am running this direction" then when you stop, you tell the server "I am no longer running". Therefore, changing direction or anything always has a little bit of lag when compared to clicking to move, as the server has to update which way the player is running instead of just saying the player is moving to X Y.
Granted no one but Anet knows if that is basically true or not, it makes sense as your character sometimes runs forward a second after you stop holding the button, then teleports back a step.
PS Mouse-Clickers: Click and hold the mouse button on the ground at the bottom of your characters feet, watch as your character gets confused running back and fourth.

As a left-handed person, I find the arrow keys easier to use for moving the characters than the WASD keys. My mouse is on the left side of the keyboard so my right hand is naturally closer to the arrows.
Back to topic - the game is months away, and you only have to look at the betas for GW to see how different it was from the finished release version. I'm sure GW2 will have assignable keys, a party window and a skill bar....what else does a monk need to be able to target players and cast spells on them?

I agree with AngelWings that this will probably cause some players to leave Guild Wars. One being my girlfriend, she is a casual game player and liked Guild Wars because of point and click movement (she only plays Monk as well as is a lefty so arrow keys if she had to). She doesn't care for keyboard movement that much, and I have to say it is not my favorite way of moving either.
To remove click movement just because of climbing and swimming seems strange in my eyes. They must not think thats how alot of players play Guild Wars and maybe alot never use mouse movement. I wouldn't even care if you had to switch to keyboard just when climbing or swimming but it is suprising they can't just figure a way to do climbing and swimming with a mouse.

"Control system is going to be significantly changed, in particular mouse movement in the form "click to move" will be removed from the game. Guild Wars 2 will introduce a z-axis to the game which will allow characters to jump over obstacles."
there it is
