Well I am trying to get all my unlocks so I figured I would get Balthazar faction and work on my gladiator title at the same time. Since I don't know a lot of PvP people and don't have a microphone I decided RA would be my best bet. After playing in RA for about 3 weeks now I have 182 glad points and only need my paragon skills to unlock. While I have amde good progress it was very frustrtating along the way and last nite kind of set me off. So here are my Rants
Why do people think that they don't need to bring rez to RA. Other than a monk (if he stops to rez there will most likely be another death) you can't possibly list one skill that in a build is more effective then a ally alive at full health with 7 other skills.
Why do people insist on running right into the spirit field of an RT. I can't count how may times a sin or warrior decided that he was invincable to spirits ran in got blinded, knocked down and killed where we were unable to rez.
Tank builds are useless in RA. A ranger with 4 stances mainly useless (can use degen and interupts effectively but still kinda pointless). Warriors running VwK, dervs with 5 enchantments, and those stupid stone dagger spammin earth ele tanks. All they do is die last. I ran into a monk running shield of Judgement the other nite. Sure it made it hard to kill him, so we just saved him for last (we were a melee team)
4. Monks that want to be warriors and Warriros that want to be monk. And most of all warriors that want to be eles, no kidding here I saw a warrior using Firestorm and maelstrom. I have also seen flare warriors. Please you don't have the energy to make use these skills effectively
People who don't understand that when the monk casts guardian on himself and you attacks start getting blocked to move to someone else. (ok maybe I shouldn't expect this in RA but still it frustrating)
But the thing that pisses me off the most is when some dies and calls the other guys noobs for:
1. Running away
2. Bringing a defensive stance for melee coutner(one is fine) quote - "you noob if you didn't bring critical defenses I would have owned you"
3. Beating the ever living crap out of the him
5. Rending his build useless quote - "Only noobs use Insiduous parasite I could so own you otherwirse"
I guess the last thing I should say is I realize I brought this on myself by playing in Ra but that doesn't mean I can't get frustrated about it.
I am sure this has been done before but I feel better now. Feel free to add you own issues with RA.

Sadly i am not able to enter Ra anymore thanks to heavy lag pressure.I end up on 2:30 of the match time and half my team already dead or halfway into the grave. To my opninion it is a Divine blessing becuase Fort Aspenwood is much more fun to do. But back the the topic, yes Ra is a very frustrating place. It used to be fun to do once, but somewhere halfway it turned into a raging hellhole.

We share the same frustration here. Totaly annoying when ppl don't take a res sig (or even worse.. rebirth).

Well there's a problem of RA =] >>N00000bs!<< Especialy the warrior who just start running after a target (blind) and blame the monk he didn't heal when he dies.. >.<

Believe it or not, but I actualy encountered multiple 55ers who were pretty surprised when we weren't NPC's (so that's PC's) who just waited untill all of his energy was gone from PS.

LMAO altough I haven't seen the ele warriors (except for shock) I do know the so called "tank monks" (also with the lovely shield of regeneration). Really frustrating.

Swapping target it not always the best option. If you're team is already on some other ppl, giving the monk some xtra pressure is good (he can't keep up guardian on every party member).

As a final (from myself): I hate it when 3/4 party members are dead and your "tank monk" is still busy keeping himself alive.. you get reported when you leave! >.< And than not being able to do PvP for 10 minutes. If I ever meet those ppl in rl they better run! >:(
I feel a lot better now too ^^

lol yeah u pretty much gave a perfect r้sum้ there about what kind of idiots run around in RA
i don't play there anymore since quite a while now(since the new crap system, RA without raging aint fun....i always said to myself RA = Rage Arenas...that kept me going) but i still remember what kind of people i met there..
highlights of my RA life (not in any specific order, i swear to god they're true) ---->
*** monk/mesmer with 8 mesmer skills, a few domination here, some illusion and inspiration there and even a fast cast attrbiute skill :)
*** warrior/ranger with a pet and bow with bow attacks. he was spamming power shot on me and said he was sparta's bravest archer (no kidding) i laughed so hard i accidently hit the restart button on my pc with my foot lol
*** ranger/elementalist with fire storm, meteor shower, ice spikes and deepfreeze. i called him a stupid idiot because he was in my team, het hen said that he was just testing....he believed that expertise work with spell aswell, sigh...
*** i was on my boa sin(pre nerf) in RA and met this others in with the same build on opposite team, after i kicked his ass (i was a nano second faster with the combo) he goes: OMG U *beep* COPYCAT SON OF A *beep*, WHY U ARE SO *beep* AND DID YOU HACK INTO MY ACCOUNT TO STOLEN MY BUILD? PFFFFF [[[this was when almost EVERY sin had been running the boa build]]]
*** wammo that laughed at me and kept calling me a noob because i was wielding a sword on my monk...he explained me that as monks are mages they need to carry a staff or wands and that only fighters are supposed to have a sword because they are the killers. i was on vent and told the people in channel, everyone was laughing so hard that my throat got really sore after
*** ritualist that called his spirits ghosts and described himself as ghostmaker, before match began he said in local: OK IM GHOST MAKING SO ALL STAY IN BASE AND STAY BEFORE THE GHOSTS, PULL THEM INSIDE AND GHOSTS KILL THEM :), seriously....i've had trappers in the team that said we should camp at base, but this was just HILARIOUS, pulling in pvp actually works really great in RA...
so yeah, in AB and RA u find the funniest/dumbest/imature people around, sometimes it's freakin hilarious and other times it's just sad and depressive.

You'll find a lot of people can relate to your frustRAtion because we all run into the same people and the same problems.
What we often forget to mention is the teams we get with amazing players. Believe it or not for the most part you'll get pretty balanced parties. Occasionally you'll suck and occasionally you'll destroy the competition.
I've had teams that lose in 15 seconds and other teams that go flawless for 15 games. I've had monks that are horrid and other monks that are amazing.
That in itself is what keeps me comming back to RA because I'm used to having people suck balls on my team. It doesn't frustrate me anymore because I can adapt and wait for a good team.
I'll often play my mesmer just because I assume no one else will bring rez. I throw up Rez chant and my team can keep going much longer than others.
But I do agree, getting bad groups or bad players in a good group is frustraiting when you're working towards a title or unlocking skills.

LOL, seriously? I don't think I even came accross people that horrible. Although my friend said he ran into a ranger packing Poison Shot and Apply Poison. His reason? He thought it would cause double the poison.

Well I am glad everyone is enjoying this.
At Seth you are right we fail to look at the good times as well as the bad, but I wrote this after spending 2 hours in RA. Over that time I accumulated 1 glad point and mayeb 4K faction. I would say on over half my teams I was the only one with a rez and the only time I got a monk he was a smiter.
I have had some great runs (my best was 17) but more often then not it is the bad runs we remember.
I had one warrior yell at me becuase I went to far for him to maintain his mending on me so HE could keep me alive. (when there were hero boards we split a lot).
I have seen warriors frenzy with SS on them
Mesmers casting backfire on melee, telling me that it triggers on attacks
I got yelled at last nite for no attacking right after I called out that I had SS and Insiduous Parasite on me. He then called me a noob and the necro who cast it a noob.
I played with a guy last nite who I told before the battle not to attack with SS and IP on him and what did he do... you guessed it. He died in about 5 seconds. called the monk a noob of course
I can go on and on as we all can but I think it is time to stop FOR NOW at least

- Monks are way too 'overpowered' in RA. Why is it you need a monk in 99% of all games to get a good run? Shouldn't be like that.
...some folk I encountered:
Melee elementalist with starter istani armor (flappy shoe type)
Ranger with no elite and beginner armor that claims 'he knows how to use his skills, so he's good cause he only died once this round'.
Warrior with meteor shower.
Smiting monks....

Isn't that what monks are for? They are the healers. That's not overpower. I more think they are udner-powered because "Magebane shot" has been adapted and now almost every RA ranger has that skill. Very annoying to be a monk when everyone is interupting.
So no, I don't they are overpowered at all.

Not, really...you can get around it.
hm...I've seen quite a few wars using fire storm, and spamming flare.
Monks using half heal half illusion, with conjure nightmare still at 25 energy (no incantation)
wars trying to stack stances along with them bringing doylak sig
all invinci builds that do no dmg (although, i do kinda use one that works fairly well...me/e)
but yeah, that's the big ones...there are others obviously, but those stand out
