Ok, let me set the scene. I was hunting the hotspot in Siren's to get the time spent in zone badge. Suddenly 2 blaster type Heroes swoop down in ambush, no announced challenge, no declaration of "Ready!", zip, nada, nothing...
These ?brave? souls had waited in ambush until my health was low from fighting NPC's and sniped me for an easy kill. I setup my pets at the hospital and noticed that one of these skeezes had made the "most wanted" list and now had a trackable cursor on my map. Carnage ensued and I racked up a nice kill count with no more death's for Mort.
I enjoyed the thrill of turning the tables from victim to victor. The balancing of my power's refresh times, endurance use, and devising appropriate strategies to thwart my advisary attacks and defenses all created a heady and most addictive experience. I have since spent several hours patrolling pvp zones encountering targets, sending them a warning tell, & doing my best to trounce the opposition.
I found after a breif explanation of PvP etiquette (-as explained elsewhere by Mzzkc) the former skeezes were actually a couple of fairly nice guys and were willing to challenge before engaging and patiently await their chance to battle someone who was currently engaged in battle whether the foe was PC or NPC.
Heheh we even compared notes on possible build's and made suggestions to improve each others sucsess against similar opponents.
Nothing in my gaming experience with PvE had prepared me for the chaos and nailbiting thrill of hunting the "ultimate prey" a living and unpredictable opponent. A horrid exploitation of opportunity by my first advisaries has grown into a respect for the many "honorable" PvP'er still out there. A belated heartfelt apology & kudo's to all those who I had previously snubbed for telling their "infantile" PvP warstories.

Well, I am glad to hear you enjoy PvP, but there isnt really an etiquette per se when you consider that the idea is to strike from the shadows, etc. Just dont tell me that, as a Villain, you find it necessary to mezz your Heroic enemy and then regale him with the ways you intend to destroy him giving him a chance to escape. It's just so Dr Evil. HeH!

Well, there is that compunction to mezz the hero, then subject him/her to choreographed flexing session by your undead pets for the duration of said mezz. (Has to be undead for maximum effect). The boasting is just to blank out the screams of horror :-)
Just my 2 cts.

Actually the Idea is to mez, then lie about the evil plot planting false information causing the Hero to destroy themselves.

You'd be surprised how much etiquette there actually is Sap. If you spend enough time PvPing you'll see that there's actually a complex layer of unwritten rules and social interactions. Most people just see PvP as a wild environment where anything goes, which is true to a degree, but not entirely precise.
