Anet stop ripping us off!

ok, basically im getting tired off getting pre searing drops in HM(exagurated)!

Basically we went into cathedral of flames HM, the drops were terrible! 4/7 chests gave me a purple 7/7 chests broke my pick.

The only "decent" drop was this

A non max in HM in game were only level 20s are allowed to venture. If im doing a high level area, i demand high level items.

It's just luck..
If a perfect weapon dropped for everyone, everytime, then there wouldn't be any "rare" skins.

I think what he means is AT LEAST it should be guaranteed that max damage drops drop.
15-22 ONLY, no 15-21s.
The req and the mods and the color still can be random, but at least the item is max damage.
I agree, it is funny to see a Pre-Searing item drop from a level 30 mob.

another thing i want to raise is locked chests. Its bad enough we have to hunt them down, but it seems we have a higher chance of purple then a gold. I would at least like to see if u get a purple from a locked chest, you auto retain your pick but it counts towards ur unlucky. just annoying to spend 1.5k and hunt down a chest for a item of merchant value.

hahahahaha, twas a painful run indeed!

3/5 of the chests I opened were grapes, all picks broke. None of the items were even worth selling :|

And yes, I totally agree about the guaranteed max base stats for items.

Even more-so would I like a much, MUCH lower chance of getting a purple item from Hard Mode!

I'm going to have to agree that the drop rate, and lockpick breakage, rate in GWEN is horrible. Seems like purples 80% or more of them time, and lock picks break at about the same rate. It needs to be fixed. Or offer a cheaper key to use

Do you guys really thinks its that abnormal that the chests drop more purples now in HM , especially in muruka's lair , since ppl are HM duo running them , anet dropped the rate ther , last night i went for 1 run murukai then i went to do a 5 random cave and the drops ther wher 3 times as good as in murukai's duo run , so you see since ppl duo run it it think Anet dropped the drop rate to balance the economy , i dont like it either but hey we cant do anything about it , greetz GD

I just had to post here to: SHAME ON ANET!!
Every gold drop I've got in EotN haven't been max... And the worst thing is it's a expansion for lvl 20 characters...

But gotta say, this cuts both way's doesn't it?!
First you see topics full of:
"That item drops too much and the prices lowers and we can't make a profit with it anymore" -> nerf -> "OMGZ they nerfed the build what we gonna do now?!!"

And now you're complaining that you don't get enough gold items...

What a weird world it is ...

So if you're complaining about the ONE damage it doesn't have then wtf...it's 1 dmg.

If not, then you just have very shippy luck it's not really anet's fault.

You're skipping on a lot of facts there. And basic GW logic for that matter.

Firstly: How about you try selling that sword for the same price as a max damage version? It's not going to happen unless he puts caster mods on it and cuts the norm price by at least 50%. Waste of time.

Secondly: You're ignoring/haven't read the parts where other people have testified that the ratio of purples to golds in GWEN is terrible. Go to any town in GWEN and ask if people get more purples than they do golds out of locked chests - make sure you're ready for the barrage of YEAH IT R POOP.

Yea they really should make is so you only get max gold weapons in that sort of situation. I doubt it would take that much programming to do.

Lets think about this....

5 lockpicks 1.5K each equals 7.5K

5 opened chests, 4 purples 1 gold.

Sold to merchant, assuming not perfect, and no perfect mods
Purples = 200 gold (being generous there to)
Gold = 300 gold (middle line price)

That equals 1.1K made back.

7.5K minus 1 key that doesnt break = 6K
6K minus 1.1K = 4.9k lost by opening 5 chests

Something is not right about that. I know the rich can afford that loss, but the majority of players are not rich and that is a hefty loss.

Those that want to critisize those expressing their feelings need to step back and realize this is a place for people to express thier complaints and concerns for anet to read. You may not agree with it, and making a reasonable counter point is great. The sarcasm in some posts just goes to show that there are some real arrogant jerks around.

gw economy is fine atm, i agree with chests/lockpicks being not very profitable but this keeps the rare items rare so they keep some value, look what happens to farmable things like ele swords prices are dead low atm. just gotta accept the price and just buy locks of discount merch or from a friend who has acces to them

I agree with both things that the original poster said. Make golds and others drop more often with max damage (but with other random mods to balance it out). I also like the idea of retaining the lockpick if you get a stupid freaking grape. I HATE it when I spend a butt load of money on picks just to waste them all on grapes that are barely worth merchant fodder. You got my support 110%. Cheers ^_^

I agree that the golds in HM in any campaign should be Max damage, but max mods is a bit of a longshot. There is no reason for a 15-21 sword to drop in HM. However the modifiers on said sword are ok.

If everything was rare then nothing would be.

I wanted to do an expiriment one time...

I spammed for about 20 minutes offering to sella destroyer axe for 50k...(it cost more than that to make)

finally got an offer for 40k...yea this economy SUCKS

i finally sold a stormbow of mine. it was max, R8, 14^50, 20/20 +30hp. a decent bow.

i had so many offers for 20-30k on it when i'd just write "wsp offer"

finally the other day i had it with trying to have a player pick their price. i knew generally what i wanted for it and advertised it that way. 75k or best offer. Sold it about 5 minutes later for 65k.

people are notorious cheap-skates, makes sense, i've never bumped into a normal person that hates money, and i'm sure in GW, if anyone was offered 1,000,000g +500 ecto's, they'd take it.

the reason markets in GW are hard to sell in is that the popular items are nearly obsessed over and the market will become unstable with them until something new and cooler replaces it, upon which, a once 100k + ecto Victo's Bulwark, a year later is 10k and generally seen as crap.

anytime something can be created and sold will reflect in it's demand. obviously when EotN came out, no one had beaten the game and no one had destroyer weapons. Destroyer weapons were high in demand ie: 100k++,

now a lot of people have finished the game, a lot of people can make destroyer weps, they're no longer as sought after as they once were, = demand (price) drops. people don't want to shell out 100k for something everyone can easily get now.

and i've never noticed anyone who's asked "can i please supliment you for the mods and materials you put into that item before selling it to me, as i'd feel really bad if you put more money into it than what i'm about to buy it for"

no one says that because they don't care about you or you're money, they just want that item and have a figure in their head on what it's worth to them and if you sell it for that, then how can you say the economy is bad? perhaps you should've held out longer if you thought it was worth more.

Good to see more people agreeing, just been really angry working my bottom off for junk i could get in normal mode. its like a lazy guy at work(NM) and u a hard worker(HM). You work and he just works very sloppy, and u get the same wage.

I never really understood the sales mentality. The sword that started this thread has a couple of fine mods, (Defense, in particular, is a favorite of mine.)

Salvage the mods add them to a max dmg, nice inherent weapon that came with poorno mods, and you have a useful weapon. If you don't use them, sell the mods, merch/salvage the sword.

GWEN may be an expansion for lvl 20 players, but I don't think Anet meant it as 'the expansion for lvl 20 players who don't really care about finding useful or interesting items since they're just going to sell them anyway'.

That said, I know plenty of players who find a good balance, but those who obsess over item market value as found, and don't care to make the best of what they can get tend to make things less enjoyable around towns, so I don't mind that Anet keeps them under control, even if I might seem less lucky.

EDIT: For the record, I've actually had fine luck in HM.

Now that you mention it, with a R3 in Lucky, R2 in Treasure hunter, 52% chance, I break them about 90% of the time...was there an update?

I LOVE these posts about the "broke" in game economy.

People complain "It's broke because the drop rates on the "insert desired skin here" is TOO low, and I can't afford one."
The fix - Increase the drop rates - Wait now the "insert desired skin here" I got, or bought at that high cost now doesn't sell. So it's still broke.

To the majority of people whining about the economy, the only fix is to key EVERYTHING to their account so that if they want to sell the price is high and if they want to buy, the price is low.
Wake up, it doesn't work that way. Of course the underlying fact that it is solely an appearance, and nothing to do with function.

But I do agree with the original poster that in HM the items from chests should be max damage (but not necessarily gold, because that's why they are RARE!).

To those talking about the investment of lockpicks - do you not read? There has been numerous posts here and other forums showing that it is a money sink, not a good investment.
Now I personally feel that if you go vanquishing with 15 lockpicks, pick up everything and sell 98% of everything to the merchant, and the better runes, tomes and such on the economy, when you run low on lockpicks you will be able to buy enough to get back up to 15. So I feel it's more of a break even, when vanquishing. I am speaking with some authority as I have finished vanquishing Elona and Cantha, and am about 1/3 the way through Tyria.
