Yea I don't really keep up with American football but today a very talented 24 year old redskins player named Sean Taylor died. I don't know all the details and they aren't really important. All I know is that(regardless of your religious beliefs or even if you dont have religious beliefs...)you should pray for this guys family because he had a fiance and a young child.

Actually, he was in critical condition after being shot it the leg (most likely hit his femoral artery or some other major artery) which caused massive bleeding which lead to his death. And yes, very sad to think that people will kill others for some stupid reason or another.

Theres more to it than people think.
Sean Taylor was actually involved in gangs.
Im not saying he deserved it...I don't wish death upon anyone. Just saying that he got involved in the wrong crowd, and ultimately payed for it.
He was warned. 8 days prior to the shooting, his house was broken into, and a knife was placed on his bed, signify his death to come. (Heard this on ESPN)
-Yes it was his femoral artery MasterSaji.
He was a great football player, and its terrible to see someone like him die. R.I.P Sean Taylor

Yes R.I.P. Sean Taylor. Even though i am a dallas cowboys fan real life bigger than a game. I want to pray for his family. Thank you sean you've done a lot forme For i too have a dream becoming a safetey in the NFL. Youve been a good role model since youve been here. God bless you and again all thoughts a nd regards to the Taylor family. Thanks for all you've done! Redskins you had one heck of a player off the field and on the field You guys get better too you hear?

Especially since I live in MD, 30 minutes from DC, and 45 minutes from Landon/Fed Ex Field my whole school was just stunned. I doubt it was a robbery. Like HIGHLY doubt it was a robbery. It was probably someone from his past coming back to haunt him. Juicy Details-
-3rd time that week his house was broken into, nothing taken each time
-GF wasn't shot(robber would've, since he shot Sean)
-He's been shaping up his life, he has a daughter too.
-First place hit was his bedroom which means someone came with vengeance.
Sean was going towards the door to lock it and as soon as he got there the guy busted it down and fired 2 shots. The first missed, but the second hit his groin and severed his Femoral Artery which in turn killed him because of loss of blood. The skins lost a good player and one of the hardest hitting safeties. This is gonna be an awkward season for skins fans like me. :( RIP Sean.
off topic- Cowboys are gonna lose to the pack. Favre is the 2nd best QB in the league, they have the best CB duo and their receivers are frying. Their only loss was a fluke thing to the bears. The only person who has more yards than Favre is Brady. The Pack is back!

Not to sound cynical here, but you reap what you so. This guy has a history of on the field off the field trouble. When you associate with the wrong kind of crowd bad things are going to happen. I'm sorry but I don't feel at all bad about it.
What I do feel bad about is the innocent little 5 year old that was shot in the head and died over the weekend here in a drive by shooting. None of you will ever hear about that, or grieve one little bit for a life snuffed out before it ever had a chance, because she wasn't a "celebrity" as if thier lives are SO much more important then hers. Now that is tragedy that happens way to much. My sympathy and sorrow go out to that childs family. Sorry if I just can't find any left for a "thug" football player.

Right. There are so many deaths, many of which are kids, that no one even hears about. While I'm not saying to not grieve Taylor's death, people are holding his life above many others.

we all know people die everyday, we aint stupid and yes lots of them are kids, but you cant be mournfull for every one! there just is'nt time! i have no idea who this guy is or the little girl you are reffering to is but one thing i am sure of is that both of these people (and who ever else died recently that i dont know about) will be mourned and will miss by the people who mean most to them, as with you one day hopefully far in the future you will be to by your friends and family, dont be disrespectful.

I dont usually reply to this type of topic, however I do beleive the only "celebrity" football player death worth taking a moment for was pat tillman. He gave his life for his for his country and for his thousands of brothers and sisters like me--his fellow soldiers.

Way to be blinded by rage. I simply quoted one guy and agreed with the fact that there are those that get their lives blown on the media all the time (not always a star, mind you).
Anyway, I like how you said "disrespectful people" when I saw moments of disrespect in that last post of yours what with the "GTFO" and "some random kids death" etc.

Not blinded by rage, just pissed people post BS in a RIP thread. That's just not cool. Sure, hundreds of thousands people die every day. And just because a small child got shot down (which sucks) and doest make the front page of the Daily Herald, that doesnt mean you have to go berserk (overexaggerated). I'm almost postive that the little kid would have someone to mourn her, I mean its nearly impossible for that not too. In a sense, isn't it the same?
You can either spend every living hour praying to the families of the deceased (hundreds upon thousands every day), or you can accept the fact that their dead, mourn for a little bit, and carry on with your lives.
So back to my first point, this is an RIP thread and should be still be an RIP thread

You know, I could sit here and quote a bunch of stuff replied to my post by some people and make a big issue about it, but that would be wasting my time. My point was, this guy was a "thug". You reap what you sew. I shed no tears for anyone, famous or not, who chooses to associate with the wrong crowd, that ends up in a coffin.
The completely ridiculous replies to what I said, only make me realize that there are some people in this world who are just plain backwards in their thinking. And at the same time, are very confrontational, and look for any reason to express thier rage at whatever it is that troubles them.
Side note....this is a forum. A forum is a place where people are free to express thier opinions so long as they don't "flame" others. My post was not a "flame" towards anyone. It was in fact, my opinion and the way I view things. If you don't like what I said, it only emphasizes to me that I was right in what I said. Truth sparks emotion from people, ecsp those that disagree. What seperates the right from the wrong are the ones that know how to thoughtfully, and with intelligence, express how they feel about it. I have seen both intelligence and ignorance in this thread.

I didn't say anything about last Sunday's game, I said about the last meeting of the Patriots and Cowboys, Do you actually think its going to change by the end of the season at all?
The Pats are an unstoppable force this year and sometimes like the eagles game, they fall down a bit but they didn't stay down which is why I enjoy them so much. Tom Brady's 4th quarter comebacks are incredible always.
