| Having trouble starting up CoV/CoH since i11 sarted |

when i got home the day i11 was live i opened my CoV updater. at first it had the usual stuff, i11 live, watch movie of i11 etc. but after about 5secs of the usual stuff the message down the bottom left of the updater changes and then the updater disappears and after about 5 seconds it pops up again but says this program cannot display the webpage as if my internet isnt working. i have checked if my internet is working and its fine i can go onto webpages, msn etc but not Cov.....does anyone know how to fix this problem or has anyone else encountered this problem?

I have had this problem in the past and it had to do with my Default Browser at the time, or more specifically the Updater uses (or used) Internet Explorer to access the Sites tagged in the Updater windows. If you are having problems updating to Issue 11 that is one thing, but if it is just the Links to the Ads I wouldnt worry it.
Further info I will have to look into unless someone else has a ready explanation.

I had it too. In my case it was my firewall. The first thing that got downloaded is a new cohupdater.exe, which the firewall didn't recognize and therefore blocked.
I switched off my firewall temporarily, and removed cohupdater.exe and cityofheroes.exe from the trusted files list. Then I restarted COH, which now went through fine and did the full patch/update till I was able to log in. Then I went into my firewall menu and added the cohupdater.exe and cityofheroes.exe to the trusted files list again. Restarted COH one more time and all was fine.
My dumb firewall program used to give warnings, but it stopped doing that. Maybe you have the same problem.

thx heaps guys,its working again, im not sure wat the problem was but i just restarted my computer twice it was working so :) ready to get into i11

I have a very similiar problem to Phe when a new update comes out. The firewall doesn't recognize the new update immediately and when I go to log in, the computer freezes. I know it's the firewall blocking it, but it doesn't give me a warning popup. I have to restart to get the firewall and game working properly again and get the popup. It's kind of frustrating at times.
