| QUOTE | Update - Thursday November 29
Bonus Mission Pack
The Bonus Mission Pack has been enabled for those players who made qualifying purchases in the online store during the Bonus Mission Pack promotion.
* To access the Bonus Mission Pack missions, speak to Durmand [Historian] in any of the major port cities: Lion's Arch, Kaineng Center, or Kamadan.
* For each mission, you will receive a book that tells the story leading up to the mission, along with any weapons your character will use during that mission.
* To launch the mission, equip any provided weapons and click the "enter mission" button found inside the story book.
* The Bonus Mission Pack missions are all single player adventures where you play as the characters from each story book. You will become that character for the duration of the mission and your normal skill bar will be replaced with that character's set of skills.
* Upon completing a Bonus Mission Pack mission, you will be returned to the port city you were in previously or to your character's home port city. Your story book will have three new pages added at this point, summarizing the events that occurred during the mission as well as the effect those events had on the Guild Wars world.
* You can take completed books back to Durmand to have the stories authorized. You can then trade in authorized stories to one of the four story scribes (located next to Durmand in each port city) for a customized weapon from the historic period you witnessed during the mission. However, you will no longer be able to keep the book in your Xunlai storage once it has been authorized.
* Completing each mission also unlocks "Discovery Mode" for that mission, which allows you to replay the mission to achieve mission specific bonus goals. Each mission has three additional bonus goals that, once completed, will earn you additional authorized stories for that mission. The additional stories can only be earned once for each account.
Skill Updates
We will be evaluating the following changes over the course of the next week. Additional adjustments may be made during that time period.
Assassin
* Deadly Paradox: increased Energy cost to 15.
* Shadow Prison: increased recharge time to 25 seconds.
Mesmer
* Clumsiness: increased recharge time to 7 seconds; decreased duration to 4 seconds.
* Cry of Pain: decreased recharge time to 12 seconds.
* Empathy: increased damage to 10..55.
* Overload: increased non conditional damage to 5..40.
Bug Fixes
* Fixed a bug that caused Black Lotus Strike to fail if the target was not Hexed.
* Fixed a bug that caused an improper error message to appear when Signet of Return or "Finish Him!" was used against an invalid target.
* Fixed a bug that caused Magebane Shot to disable non-spell skills.
* Fixed a bug that caused a character's tattoos to disappear and skin tones to appear altered when wearing the Ritualist's Opulent Raiment, Scale Leggings, and Beaded Shoes.
Miscellaneous
* Siege Devourer Feast now shows the proper error message when there is no exploitable corpse within range.
* Replaced the oozes and rats in Lion's Arch, Kaineng Center, and Kamadan that were removed at the end of the Halloween Event.
* Added effects for the skill Spectral Agony when used by Mursaat.
* Updated an old version of the Diessa Icon to use the most current statistics for that item. The earlier version contained a +10% enchantment-lengthening bonus that is not supposed to exist on focus items.
* Updated Automated Tournament map rotations.

Enjoy!

That Bonus mission pack doesn't seem so great now that I know what it actually is. Now i'm not so sad about not getting it.
clumsiness nerf was well needed...empathy buff wasn't though...dang.

Deadly Paradox and Shadow Prison get bumped up a bit...hopefully it'll make those hell annoying builds drop a little.

Why doesnt blizz just take sins out of the game? Daggers chains suck now, and thats the sin's main weapon, and an assasin is in NO WAY a caster.

Um, Blizz? Anet = Guild wars, unless Ive been lied too
But yeah, its like kicking sins in the crotch after the BLS knockdown
We wonder, "Why?" when we lose friends, and there are never any good answers.

So, what, that's all you guys were able to use on sins? Shadow Prison? It's so easy to make builds left and right for a sin. Just have the following: Snare/KD/IMS, shadow step (I enjoy these to no end, it's like "boo, haha, did I get ya?"), deep wound and you're set.
Needless to say, you need a good combo too.

Yea what the *kitten* is up with all these peopel whining about si nnerfs? Did you not noticed how BADLY they needed to be nerfed? Every sin I see in pvp is running the SAME build. This is ANET saying "Hey bud use soemthing else." They aren't paragons and they aren't getting nerfed every day.

Lets think for a moment as to why all of those sins would be running that same build, hmmmmmm... oh! maybe it was because those skills were the most effective out of the sins arsenal. You say "use something else." Now, all you see is stupid signet sins running around, was the sin made to be a caster-esque class? NO! It was made to be a get in, get out MELEE spiker using DAGGERS. Now, the sins primary function is GONE. In order to stop yourself from being countered by block or interrupt skills, you have to use 1 out of 2 to 4 builds to do it, and those incluse scythe sins, signet sins, crit barragers, or a moebius striker that takes ~13 seconds to kill something. That does not fufill the main idea of an assasin. So, will anet bring the nerf shotgun to these skills too?
Heh, paragons dont get nerfed every day, A-net just lengthened the para's torture over a few weeks, while giving sins 2 nerfs and neutralizing the class.
/end rant

O rly? I never use these nerfed skills and I run sin ok for whatever I need to do. It's simply the fact that people won't exploroe the darn class. Try other builds. I can say that not beacuse I'm ignorant of the class but beacuse I paly it ALL THE TIME(not in HA or GVG mind you but in Ra/Hb/Pve ALL THE time)

No, But they do work very well since they have to go through multiple voting processes and players have to find the purpose in them, which is why they work so effectively.

That gave me a laugh. I do not mind these nerfs yes a few builds go to waste, the worlds not ending, well maybe for those peoeple that use wiki builds. Just look at nerfs and buffs as an opurtunity to make more builds instead of runnin the same thing everytime. All A-net is tryin to do is to get people to stop bein lazy and make new builds. Its not that bad. :)

FYI that was not from an update. That was a last minute shutdown of balthazar temple to stop a huge exploitation of a "Zaishen Chest" which appeared in the isle of the nameless. The chest spawned right by the entrance and dropped anything from rare req 9 golds to elite tomes as well as special event items like firewater creme brulees and multiple types of form items (beetle, elf, and candy corn tonics) You simply had to go from balthazar temple and back to isle of the nameless to open the chest again. The update around five minutes afterward was to fix this problem but multiple players did not shutdown Guild Wars to get this update in order to continue the exploitation of this mysterious chest.

personally it irritates me to no end when i see people whining about wiki builds being nerfed, i have never used wiki builds for anything, not pvp, not general pve, not farming nothing....theres this fascinating organ inside your skull called a brain, doesnt hurt to use it once in awhile. cant see how you can live your lives letting other people think for you

You're right. There are SO many different, amazing, non-sin alternatives that you could use. Just nerf it more. Better yet, just remove both paragons AND assassins from the game entirely (paragons being a true issue with balance and the assassin comment being sarcasm). It's really almost amusing how people look at assassins as these "OMG overpowered! NERF NOW!" things when for the most part warriors are just better. Despite popular opinion, assassins ARE easy to counter. They also, unlike the warrior, don't put out pressure when not spiking. Basically, you just wait for the occasional spike with a spirit bond, and you'll live. With a warrior you still have to worry about pressure and the more common spike. Furthermore, even a small block chance doesn't even let sins attack. In general, assassins are limited in use, have very easy counters, don't pressure, and are still being nerfed because everyone that dies to one in pvp goes off and starts yelling about how "rigged" they are.

Because, the more a build is used, the more a person will probably be ready for it/have a plan for it.

Let's say that I am not upset with the newest nerf of Shadow Prison, but it is ridiculous that it's NON ELITE counterpart is only slightly worse. Seriously, now you are better off using Dark Prison than Shadow Prison and you save an Elite skill!
It is absolutely hilarious when Anet starts the nerf session and technically makes Elites worse than Normals.

lame...
they needed to nerf dancing daggers AGES ago and not DEADLY PARADOX just NOW..
shadow prison 5 secs more..big deal. i will still use it anyways, aint such a huge difference. better than making it 15 energy or so, but still frustrating
clumsiness nerf? first ineptitude then this? there were alot of clumsiness mesmers in gvg and ta but with the ineptitude nerf it was sufficient already ~~

Why use Shadow Prison? Just use Assassin's Promise with Dark Prison and voila you got your unstoppable shadow step hex :)
Anet effectively killed Shadow Prison as an Elite skill. Cheers!
