GW Easter Eggs

Well i saw a post like this on guru...so thought id start one here...post all your "Easter eggs" or outside references....ill start with a few ive found

also, try to make sure they are actuall references, not extremely vague speculations that the guru thread is full of

Ascalon City: Ellie Rigby-Eleanor Rigby by The Beatles

Nightfall-Drakes on a plane: Koss is quoted saying "Enough is enough, i've had it with these balthazar blasted drakes on this balthazar blasted plane."

Nightfall-Forget quest: Master of whispers is quoted saying "There is only one speed... mine. If you can't keep the pace, you'll succumb to the enemy." This is a reference to Riddicks quote in the chronicles of riddick. As they are escaping the prison he sais : There will be one speed. Mine, if you cant keep up dont step up you'll just die"

General: This one may just be speculation but Mad King Thorn=Great Pumpkin from charlie brown?

KOABD Title Track-All anchorman quotes....think we all knew this

"To The Pain!" - The Princess Bride, Westley to Prince Humperdink in the final duel.

"Abaddon" - Hebrew "Angel of the Abyss" or something like that.

"Victory Or Death!" a code word by George Washington at the Battle of Trenton New Jersey during the Christmas attack of the british fort.

Rodgort = Trogdor

Bork Bork Bork! = Language option, translation to "Swedish Chef"

Bonetti's Defense - also from the Princess Bride, during a duel scene between Westley and Inigo.

Farah Capo - Capa Ferro, also Princess Bride.

Kilroy Stoneskin is also a parody on Leroy Jenkins. When encountered in Northern Shiverpeaks he charges into a mass of enemies shouting his name.

RE: GW Easter Eggs

Forget not the female warrior dance shares similarities with Mrs. Mia Wallace's dance, as seen in Pulp Fiction. Although, this is debatable considering the twist/jive is somewhat universal, but that would be the biggest pop-culture reference the Anet peeps, imo, would base the dance on.

And the similarities in the male rit dance with the almighty Napoleon Dynamite dance number.

weird this isn't noticed here yet, while i was checking wiki for Pogahn Passage (mission) i looked at the trivia and there are a lot of references to star wars o.O

quoted from wiki.

if you take Zhed, you will tell the guards that he is being transferred from cell 1138, which is the same as the cell that Han says Chewbacca is being transferred to. In its original usage, this was also a reference to the film THX 1138, the first film made by George Lucas, the creator of Star Wars.

HERE is the link to that wiki page

;edit; That's just one of the star wars references ;)

Right here is where the lolcats start, but thanks to the new rules, we dont have to worry about that. /glad

It seems that just about every name, skill or item has a reference outside of the game. It is fun to find them. Like the quests in GW:EN, aren't most song references as well as a lot the inscrptions.
