We as staff have come to the conclusion that the 'lolcat's and 'caturday's have become too much.
As of now a new rule will come into effect which is that:
- There is a limit of ONE per person in each thread.
- The images will be no more than 200x200 px.
If you repeatedly fail to comply, you will receive a one week ban.
These 'lolcat's take up too much space and are usually way off topic in the threads they are posted in.

We should outlaw posts longer than a page as well. I mean; come on guys they take up too much space! No one actually reads them anyway we should just do away with it! Any post longer than three paragraphs or that contains proper spelling and grammar is just too long.
So lets just outlaw everything fun about forums and stick to things that will get people banned for trivial reasons. I mean it's not like we can come up with a better resolution so lets just ban everyone who posts a funny picture. We don't need to look at context or give warnings or do things actual moderators or staff are supposed to do we'll just ban people and make the site even less fun to post on. [/sarcasm]
This is insanely dumb. There are a bunch of other ways you can limit or contain space on the forums. You could implament something similar to Narutofan and add spoiler tags so that you can hide images for people who don't want to see them. Or you could actually do your jobs as moderators and delete posts that cause troubles. Funny images don't hurt anyone this is just insane. I can see how you would need to lay down ground rules but coming to the conclusion of an immediate ban for a week is ridiculous.
You can easily let the community know that excess of images that aren't appropriate or take up too much space wont be tolerated. You're going from one extreme (not caring or doing anything) to another (banning people).
You're all ridiculous. Maybe you should actually try doing your jobs instead of banning people. So I'm going to get banned for two things now, flaming and posting an image, screw you guys I'm goin home!

Loophole alert...Just quote other people's lolcat posts. You are technically not posting it and since it's someone else's cat you can do it as many times as you want since it's not your one single post ^_^. If the admins nerf this with the rule (which I'm sure they will) then they definitely = EPIC FAIL. nuff said

I apologize if I made it sound too harsh.
What I meant to say:
If you repeatedly fail to comply you will get a one week ban. We don't try to just ban people and not do our jobs. People just do not follow the rules. No one has been banned in a while for anything other than gold spamming.
'lolcat's are still allowed, just in moderation.

Seth, I agree 100%, pictures are FREAKING AWESOME, and just taking that away just ruins another way of emphasizing a point. A picture would be so much better than a huge arse DO YOU GET MY POINT NOW YOU DUNCE?!
Besides, posting a picture of some failing animal is better than someone flaming the hell outta someone. I mean seriously, it calms people down, as mad and peeved off you might be, it unangers (is that a word) people, well at least from my observations. Might as well tie them to a bottom of a pier and set them on fire until they agree with you
And once again, since I cant find a picture that applies to what im about to say, Ill just resort to words

That guy stepped out of bounds with the basketball. But wait, that line is no longer out of bounds, that other one is. The line he stepped over automatically gives his team a foul. This new foul allows the other team to shoot 5 free-throws. If that team misses any of the 5, then the other team automatically gets 10 points. Etc, etc, etc....
See what I mean? Quit trying to ruin something that is fun and completely harmless. Your new rule makes you guys sound very communist. Let us have our fun and go do something more productive than banning innocent play. It'll die out eventually anyways (just like all other trends before it). /nuff said

you might as well be outlawing them there is barely any that are under 200x200 in size, and it takes a while to make them all smaller. The rule has ridiculous consiquences which do not fit the crime.
