The Rant:
I don't really find PvE fun. I don;t have GWEN or the BMP because they don't really do much for me. I like PvP and since you know, i;m a teacher and goto school for my masters, i dont have much free time. So i'm a pretty casual player. but (not to brag) i understand the game very well, and post a lot of builds on the site, that overall are rated very favorably.
Guildwars did a GREAT job of appealing to the casual PvE player. No camping, all instances, low level cap, not serious DP. I LOVE all that, i have 2 PvE charecters a warrior and para, and they've been every where. It's great.
But as a casual Pvp what's in it for me?
A couple hours of RA's with w/mo's who bring vengeance as their rez?
If i'm lucky a glad point? With out a lot of free tiem to practice, or a guild to practice with. PvP just becomes blind slogging through the muck and trash of RA's.
I love this game, i wish i loved it as much as i did when i first got it.
The Rave:
I just spent two hours playing Guildwars mostly in Random Arenas
I have a new build i want to try out and it works. I shut down the enemy caster, I'll call but no one responds because
my team is all whiffing away on some ranger with whirling defense.
I just get soo soo soo soo fed up. I have absolute terrible luck in RA's, you can ask my guild
Not to mention the people who appearantly just installed the game
in that 2 hour time span, i had exactly TWO HEALERS not even monks, just 2 healers!!
the first was an incompetent bonder who as far as i could tell didn't bring blessed sig
and then second "healer" was a 55.
I just don't understand how i constantly am fighting Para healers Rit healers and MONKS!
I'm not sayign you need a healer to win, i had many wins. I even had a 5 game streak. It just frustrates me soooo bad.
I just want something else, right now I'm playing TFC2 and CoD4, while im waiting for GW2 and hoping it's good.

thats why i play a monk or a rit healer in RA usually.
if you only have a limited tim eto play pvp try playing AB its more organized and if you are playing with friends it can be pretty fun.
im not saying AB is full or pro players but there are less incompetent then in RA.
well if you can stand the leechers its fun... use the report function so they will stop leeching somedays i hope.

RA will always be.... RA I'm afraid, it gets annoying in the long run. But I usually try to spice it up by playing different builds all the time, to sort of adjust against the most common professions I see when I play. If I see a lot of Warriors, I swap to my B-surge ele. If I see a lot of spellcasters, I go assassin. And if the other teams get a lot of monks... I swap my character to a monk... Frustrating, but I still find RA a fun place to be, all the usual fun of the game outnumbers the many extremely bad players on your team.
Anyhow... If we are online at the same times, I'd love to TA with you...

FURY is a game out now that is a PvP gamers blessing. Whether casual or not, FURY would be the game for you if PvP is what you treasure most. The next best PvP I've played in an MMO is GW... then CoH/CoV... so FURY would be your best bet if that is what you are looking for. Or you could abandon RA and do AB through your Guild. Thats pretty much all I'll do when it come to PvP in GW anymore... ABs all the way.

RA is kind of Hit or miss. Its really hard to come up with a great skill bar becuase you have to make space for self heals/condition hex removal... cause you don't know what your going to get on your team. Also it seems sometimes it just not your day. I've got on as a necro and for 10+ matches no monk so I switched to a monk my next 5 matches at least 3 of them had me with another mnk :/. Seems no matter how you try if you unlocky that day it sticks with you.
Try getting into TA maybe might take a while but I am sure after a while you will get a friends list with people that also TA and things will get better.
Maybe if you get really good you can be a uber-elite PvPer like rogue ;)

RA is shit since the new system anyways... if u're a pvper then u shouldn't just go ra and then get depressed because of all the idiots that run around there, u can't stop it..
play TA and GvG, get into a really nice guild were u can do a diversity of things, mainly focused on pvp if that's what u want =)
i'm trying to get into DVDF's pvp guild, their alliance is so awesome... they have like r10 heros, r4 champs and then r5 koabd, people with 5 fow armors, etc. i had a chat with the leader yesterday, got to wait a bit to see if i get accepted ^^ i really hope i get in... as i'm not going to be so uber active atm due to much work&studies and rl this is a great place to settle.

I've always found RA's to be quite fun actually, I'd say 2/5 groups will get a two or three consec average, and I'm okay with that.
