Donation of Wool

So I'm level 18 and I keep seeing this Donation of Wool quest. You know, 60 wool cloth to the gnomes (or humans or whomever is asking). I'm all about giving it to the gnomes because they've been run out of Gnomerasomething, but is it worth it when I'm at this level? I checked out how much it's going for at the auction house, and I'm usually pretty poor. What do I get for ocmpleting the quest? Especially w/ the new patch.

RE: Donation of Wool

I'm pretty sure that it's a 1 time quest that you can do to get honor with the city in question. (Ironforge if you give it to the person in Ironforge, etc.)

They might have changed it, but thats what it was the last time I looked at them.

RE: Donation of Wool

It is all for honor, if you want to get a specific mount from them, and it is repeatable, mostly the reason people are able to get mounts from another faction.

Edit: But I think they may either ask for more the next time, or another type of cloth.

RE: Donation of Wool

It gives you 350 (I think) rep with the faction and some exp. Also after you donate wool you can donate silk then mageweave, and runecloth. It is for rep in case you want to get the race's mount.

RE: Donation of Wool

they give around 4000 XP for silk at level 20 and mageweave at level 35, they are well worth doing in each city. It is not repeatable until level 50 when you turn in runecloth. But you can do it 1 time in each capital.

RE: Donation of Wool

OOO! I didn't know it was repeatable once you hit 50 and start turning runecloth! Sweet. Thanx again Dru. I have a couple factions I really want to burn some rep with. Although I think my Dranie Ephalant mount is cool, I really want to get one of the NE Tigers when I get my epic ground mount. That's WAY better than making Morrowgrain with my herber!

It's always 60 pieces too. 60 wool, 60 silk, etc......

runecloth is 50pts per 20 or stack unless they have upped it, which they did some of the quests. I turned marrowgrain and runecloth in to get my Tiger as well, but this was way back when no one else had a tiger mount...first cross faction mount on my server...now everyone has one...BOO!

RE: Donation of Wool

I'm not sure myself right, but I'll probably go from town to town this weekend and open it up to the runecloth level for my main first, then for my upcoming Shaman.

Actually, I had just hit a city and turned in the Wool donation on my Shammy, and was wondering about this very subject when I saw it pop on the forums. I knew that little chip in my head was sending information to the government, I didn't know you Ampers were tapping the feed.......

So what's the ideal level to complete these at? As soon as you can?

RE: Donation of Wool

Level 15 for wool, level 25 for silk and level 35 for mageweave is ideal. Level 40 maybe level 50 for runecloth, cant remember which level it unlocks at.

It doesnt much matter when you do it because the XP level stays pretty steady unless your level 60+. I know when I did them on my level 30 priest I got 3000 xp for silk and mageweave a few weeks ago.

RE: Donation of Wool

Adding to the breath of knowledge, lvl 19 human Paladin got 950 XP & 385 reputation w/ the Gnome Wool quest.

WOuld it have been more if I was gnome, I wonder? And will it go up for each of the wool quests if I do all 4?

Makes no difference if you are a gnome or not. Also the XP will stay the same per quest, and will go up when you do the next step, silk, then again when you do mageweave, assuming you do them before they are grey.
