Defeating the Glacial Griffon?

Hi all,

Can anyone tell me how I could defeat the Glacial Griffon as a Dervish/Monk? That thing is just too darn strong!

d/mo i dont think you can, but as a d/n i used the following build

Ursan Blessing
Barbs
Weaken Armor
Ebon Vanguard Assassin Support
Summon Ruby Djinn

at the time i did this, i think my norn was r3 my vanguard was 2 and asuran was 4, lower asuran should be fine, but you should probably be at least r3 in norn

cast ruby djinn as soon as the griffon drops from the sky, as soon as he is a targetable enemy, cast hexes and EVAS, then ursan blessing and spam the attacks untill hes dead

If this is the boss in Gunners use this build. BTW You will obviously need to change secondary to Rit.

Vampirisim
Pain
Bloodsong
Wonderlust
Shadowsong
Dissonance
Anguish
Painful Bond

Get all spirits up and then attack. Put painful bond on him and go for it.
This works for any profession and its helpful to have as much energy as possible.

i tried the whole rit spirit mob about 8 times
never even seemed close to work. I would set up dissonance, pain and bloodsong, painful bond him over and he would just recast all his spirits on top of me. my interrupts never seemed to stop him once.
i recorded a couple of matches and it seems that his spirits have about a 1 second casting time(1/3 to 1/5 normal).
as a warrior primary, i've tried the usual combos
rit, doesn't work
necro mm, not enough time to build up forces
poison ranger, can't do enough degen before he sits behind his spirits and wait until healed

this mission feels to me like anet just wanted to slap everyone in the face for sharing builds, it doesn't seem to be anything more than luck to have everything line up just right to claim victory.

sorry this became a rant, 38 deaths is a joke for 500 dwarf rep points, 1 skill and a salvage kit.

Some crap for healing and defense

16 or 12 dom(primary or secodnary mes)
Wahtever you need for healing/defense

Oh look you won!

Oh yea and like some degen stuff to kill the actual griffon.

It does work trust me you have to plant spirts ASAP* or b4 he goes to red then you hit him with the painful bond then you wait a bit and sttagiclly pace the spirts to hit him he will die trust me it works.

an easy way is to just get him stuck on something and kick his ass, what i did on my warrior and my ranger, hehe summon vanguard sin helps 2, specially when i run up poison him then hide behind wall then use sin hehe.

I finally managed to defeat him using the following build:

Animate bone minions
Blood of the master
Healing Signet
Ear Bite (Deldrimor skill)
Brawling Headbutt (Deldrimor skill)

tactics: 12
death magic: 12

hold a staff or any weapon that gives you more energy. I defeated him with 35 energy on me.

When you enter the area, immediately animate 6 minions (for the slower ppl: use animate bone minions 3 times ^^ if you have enough energy, you can ofcourse make more minions. but at 35 energy you can make 6 of em before the fight starts)
then when the Griffon appears, the minions will swarm around him so he is body blocked. if the Griffon doesn't get bodyblocked, start again.
The minions will whack away on him, while you attack him with the staff. always use blood of the master when you can, and heal yourself with Healing Signet.
Because of your attacks with the staff you get adren. Use that adren for Ear Bite and Brawling Headbutt. I don't know if this will work without Bite and Headbutt. I'm afraid it will not.

It takes a
while, but if you keep on healing your minions the Griffon wil eventually die :)

note: this build will also work with another profession, just find yourself a healing skill of your profession instead of Healing Signet
