I'd say warrior, they are the easiest to get used to when first starting the game, IMO

Maybe derv cuz they are over powered and easy to live? And alot of people like them, even though i dont. But if not derv then yes id go with Warrior. Warriors FTW

Since I don't know the starting warrior skills for either Factions or Nightfall, I would just have him play and use skills he gets as he goes along.
The main thing you can do to support him, IMO anyway, is hook him up with weapons and possibly some cash. A new player is better off learning the game as he goes along, not being told that he needs this or that skill by a more experienced player.
