change on defiance 

basically, what i got from it, is that the old defiance is completely gone. the new one sounds like you get a short timed bonus per attack that you fire off, and you can always use your "early" powers when you get held, stunned, slept, and i think maybe fear? can anyone tell me what "early" power are and if you attack while under fear as well?

The official word is this:
* Blasters’ earliest abilities come so naturally to them, that they are accessible even in states that normally prevent them from using powers, such as being Held, Slept or Stunned.

Your earliest abilities are those which you can choose from on Character creation. Two attacks and one secondary, or is that 2 secondaries? No matter, easy for you to check. Fear is not mentioned, so I suspect you can't.

* Additionally, each time the Blaster attacks with a primary or secondary power, they gain a stacking damage bonus for the next several seconds. The amount of the damage bonus and its duration is dependent on the exact power used, with single target abilities generally giving the largest bonus.

You really have to test this out in play to get a good grasp, but effectively you get big damage bonusses for hitting a sinlge opponent and almost none for doing AoE damage. You also don't need to be nearly dead for these boni.

Heh, melee fighters will still hate them for knocking the mobs out of range :-)

That, and Energy isnt the only blaster with good ST attacks. :p

The fix to Flares is great for this Defiance also.

As far as AoEs are concerned, they do get less of a buff, but it's not that low. Problem is, they are having issues with certain powers not scaling properly and some powers are getting shorted, while others are getting over buffed. There is supposed to be a fix for this enroute. But as it stands, not everything is in alignment atm. :)

Boy, being able to attack while being held, stun, etc...is just thing I've been looking for in my blaster. It makes quite a difference in PvP. My two primary attacks were already heavily slotted and now I can use them even when I'm "...zzzZZZ"ing. Toss in the stacking bonus and its finally good to be a energy/energy blaster again...especially in PvP zones. (Its not too shabby in PvE either!)

yeah this definitely tempts me to dust off my old energy/energy blaster and run some missions...hm...freespec...knockback IOs....definitely tempting...

yeah i think i figured out what im doing tonight :)
