So whats your favorite power(s) in COH?
my favorite power is and always will be nova i think its one of the coolest looking powers in the game and watching your character build up energy and explode with such power is amazing from the first to the (hopefully never) last time you unleash it.
Please share your favorite power(s)

as of right now i have a combo of fav powers... it is using my buildup (from ele) along w/ full auto (ar)... w/ this combo all min 2 lvls higher than me in a group will drop to their knees then kiss pavement... i've got one range enh on my full auto so i have a larger cone in which my full auto spreads, and well i've gotten VERY good at getting the shot lined up to take down all the minions in the group (no matter how large the group is) my fav villian to use this on is the nemisis b/c they explode when you defeat them, and well setting off full auto on a group of 10 of them and watching them all blow up at once is a HUGE thrill

My favorite power right now has got to be rain of fire.
I know eventually it will probably be heavily eclipsed by other powers, but its just holds a kind of charm for me. Its just got a real clean crisp visual representation and if used the right way its really devistating.

Personally I'm all for Total focus and Psinic Lance, Total focus for being one of the strongest melee attacks the game, and Psionic Lance for 3 reasons:
1. Pretty much all of the enemies in CoH have little or no protection against Psionic damage.
2. Psychic blast has an inherent range bonus which is great for a sniper attack.
3. It's got the chessiest sound effect for a power (like the rest of the Psychic blast powers)
That's my two cents.

Auntie Freeze has Ice Slick, and it never fails.
In the power guide for Force Fields, I commented that Dispersion Bubble has my favorite activation animation & sound FX.

I just got the Blizzard power for my ice blaster. It is now by far my favorite power. IT just causes so much carnage it is unbelieveable. Me and my supergroup have been doing a lot of freak fighting and when things get a little hairy just let off the blizzard and the fight is over instantly.
The only drawback is that even with a full bar of end. and stamina 6 slotted it takes every bit of endurance I have, so I just sit back and watch while the scrappers look at people and they fall over.

It is gotta be fearsome stare.... On my DDD I had to do the atta mission in the hollows, here I was with my wife and a few good friends from the SG playing there lower level charactars. Altogether we made a team of 5 defenders one blaster, one tank and a scrapper. Using fearsome scare I was able to hold up twards 12 - 20 trolls in one shot while dropping tar patch to slow the one that were missed. In all we are able to carve are way to atta and win the mission! So again my favorite power is Fearsome Stare :)

Looks wise, Rain of Fire is cool, but as far as damage, it just doesn't stand up to my other powers, even remotely. I actually use it defensively lately. If I start getting wailed on in melee, I'll drop it. Anyone that sticks around, gets a lot of damage on them from the fire, the rest scatter.

Keep in mind that my highest level is 33, so, I'm sure my fave power is going to change as I get higher, but....
Right now I have 3 favorite powers from 3 different heros...
Nummber 1 favorite power...Sniper Rifle, I have 2 range extenders on it and can fire off at least 2 shots before the bad guy gets to me. Can't wait because I'm almost at DO level...watch out! Greatest accomplishment...took out a +2 Tsoo Sorcerer in Talos in one shot! Don't ask how, no else will believe me either.(Solo)
Number 2...Crane Kick, almost can't top kicking a boss across a room in a fight. Greatest accomplishment...knocked Babbage on his shiney metal butt and tossed him back a few feet. (Sked to a level 38)
Number 3...Fault, I love this power, not really good for team play unless you get to strike before the rest of the team, but, in a solo situation, awesome crowd control. It has knockback and disorient. I have mine slotted with 2 knock back SOs and 2 disorient SO, yeah, I know...probably overkill, but, since it doesn't do damage I need something for soloing help. Greatest accomplishment...Herded 30 Vampires on Striga, let them gather around me, smashed Fault on them and knocked down all except one, but, all were disoriented. We dusted them with no problem. (Teamed)
***Edit to Fault power...took out the knockbacks and put two recharge SOs in it's place. I guess I outgrew the humor of the knockback enhancement, now I have a kind of controlled disorient, makes them loopy, but, doesn't send them flying away anymore.***
I need to add as a sidenote...Minerals Armor is tied with Fault, without Minerals (psi defense for stone tankers) there would have been no way to do the Vampy herding at all.

ok...putting the offensive powers aside, my fave is granite armor...nothing like running into a mob to aggro, taking the damage while your team picks em off, then goin granite and despite getting hit, actually gain health after time. you gain a couple feet of rocky height, you stomp around like godzilla, and teammates seem to like the fact that (when they decide to let me go in 1st, darn scrappers) i can keep the baddies busy w/out the rest of the team taking a hit. granite also allows me to go solo toe to toe w/ any boss character, as long as i have enough catch a breaths with me....
mind you, i have 5 more bubs till 35 and energy transfer, so an edit may be in the works!!!

*leaps in* I haven't experienced all the classes and power sets yet, but so far Super Leaping has been my favorite. I took it reluctantly figuring I could forgoe travel powers, but it has made the gaming experience such much for me as late. I love bouncing from roof top to roof top, to telephone wire, and jump into a group of villans and start swinging away. Definitely makes the gaming experience "super". *leaps out*

Yes, Super Jump is a fantastic power. I probably would've mentioned it myself, except that a few peeves keep it from standing out among the others. Namely, it's often hard to see where you're going to land, which is critical if you're leaping from rooftop to rooftop. When I miss, I splat face-first into a wall, and then it takes multiple bounds to get over the obstacle.
But overall, Super Jump is a fine contender. It's the reason the buildings in Kings Row have rooftops. That, and to keep out the rain.

It never rains in Paragon City. The water in the lakes is generated by the Ice Blasters, Controllers and Tanks. It melts and creates the lakes.

My favorite power used to be Howling Twilight, because it does so much, but lately I have become very fond of Teleport. My DDD is actually starting to act like a Tsoo Sorceror lately!

Favorite power, I'd have to say trip mine. It just rocks. In combonation with Hasten, I like to lay about 6 in front of me, whistle at the big bad boss, and have him walk over and not even start the animation for a move. Course, a little mentioned move is swift. Swift and Hurdle, fully slotted with DO's, is like a ninja. I can't wait for SO movment enh's, It rocks to have SS and SJ without that corny animation and sound for us natural heroes.

I think the reason I don't like teleport (aside from it being difficult to use if you don't use keybinds) is BECAUSE the Tsoo Sorcerers use it. I REALLY dislike them. I can't wait until I can use SOs so that I can 1 or 2 shot them. Usually with Build Up, I can take them out with my "Triad" of attacks (Fire Blast, Fire Ball, Fire Breath) before they teleport away. But if I miss with one, it's horribly annoying.

It's actually much easier to use than you think. I just keep the power in my main tray, in slot 0. By the time I have my finger on the 0 key, the mouse pointer is already where I want to go. I can fire of a quick series of TP's in a hurry, with plenty of accuracy that way.
What's the keybind for?

I dunno. I've tried using it on the test server with a respec and I find it really really annoying.
Some people use a keybind to make it so they can point and hit like the button 4 on the mouse or something...or sometimes another key. I'm not sure how it works exactly. Keybinds are beyond me right now. I haven't really learned them yet. I will soon.

It doesn't take much practice. 0 to toggle, point and click where you want to go. Plenty of time to toggle an attack during transit so it activates the moment you reappear. With only a little bit of practice, people will mistake you for Nightcrawler!
The one I find hard to control is Super Jump. I took it for Mt. Vesuvius, then never again.

For fun and enjoyment, I get a big kick out of Tesla Cage with my Electricity/Electricity Blaster. We have all experienced being inside the cage when facing Clockwork. Now I get to put them in a cage and watch them twitch helplessly. Very cool.
Movement power wise, I agree with Super Jump being a cool power. Very versitile and fun to use.
For usefulness, I will vote for Hasten six slotted with SOs. That is effectively a Perma-Haste which allows me to use my powers much more effectively.
For Temporary Powers, the Bean-Bag Gun is fun. Especially if you have a scrapper or tanker, they finally get to use a ranged weapon that lets them catch up to that fleeing villian.
For Damage, nothing beats Build-Up and a Sniper attack with a blaster. Taking down a big guy with one or two shots is very nice. Get two or three blasters with that combo and take down reds before they can attack back. Very nice.
But for sheer satisfaction, I will vote for Heavy Maul. My Stone/Stone Tanker has it. It hits with a heavy thud and a satisfying sound effect "CRUNCH" and the villian goes flying back and takes a massive amount of damage. May not do as much damage as my Blaster, but it *feels* very good.
And that is my complex answer to your simple question.

I'm just the opposite. I love my superjump. So far I can get anywhere in the low level zones with it. I'm sure it'll be an issue in the later zones, but right now it's great and Combat Jumping is an ok defensive power.

Slightly related:
The funniest power animation I've seen is for Propel. The first time I saw a grav controller lift a shopping cart out of Mathis Lake to throw at the Hydra, I laughed so hard I almost had to stop fighting.

My favorite power so far is Superior Invisibility. Slap that on, and I have free reign to roam and explore everything.
That and Ressurect. The way the dead teammate comes spiraling up off the floor is just awesome. Too bad it has such a looooooong recharge time.
