my necro/dark mm just recently got to lvl 39 and it's time to star thinking about which patron to choose. So i was wonder which patron would be best for me ...if this helps at all i usually am soloing

Well it depends, cuz do you want to go for theme (Which I advise, makes a toon funner), or just pure power?

It doesn't really matter which one your pick they all have their benefits, except Soul Mastery. What ever you do, don't take Soul Mastery!

well i have a lvl 42 brute and i picked Mu mastery just for the lighting fence it holds the "good" guys so they cant move and then u just unlesh hell on them, i think for brutes it is really good as far for damage and range too.

Well I'm going to get Leviathan Mastery when I get the chance to choose.
I am a Mastermind and The Leviathan Mastery goes well with my story about teaming up with Mako and what not.
In my opinion I would just go with what you like best.
Research the powers on Paragonwiki to see what suits you best or what goes well with your character's story.
Edit: I saw that your character is a Dark so Soul Mastery could work the best to add on to your dark powers.
Night Fall, Dark Embrace, Soul Tentacles and Soul Storm for Mastermind btw.

1.- scorpion shields - this dont give you resistance to smash/letal. It gives you defense, so, like "bubbles". And some resistance to toxic
This can be the more "generalist" shield of all the ancillary, cause any damage that got smash/letal has a chance to avoid ALL the damage. Also you are using /dark. This means that Shadow Fail gives you some defense, this stacks with scorpions shield.
The other powers focuses more inmobilize and one knockback
2.- Dark Embrace - for me the best resistences of all the ancillary, at least, the one that gives you more resistences: smash, letal, negative AND toxic. This also stacks with the resistences of Shadow Fail (energy, negative, psionic, Fear).
so you will get, energy, negative(stacked), psionic, smash and lethal resistences
The other powers get -acc to target so more chance for them to miss, also, they get 1 inmobilize, hold and cone damage.
3.- Charged Armor - Smash, lethal, energy. Like embrace but without toxic. Energy is more common than dark, but, it, usually, gots a part of its damage with the smash type.
Good at draining endurance.
4.- Shark Skin - Like the others, smash, letal and COLD. BUT this power needs you to take another before, an inmobilize or cone damage.
The last power is a hold.
Im talking about shields cause is the real meaning to take ancillary, you are "squishy" and this equilibrates with other toons. I got scorpion shield cause can deflect ALL damage if even the attack got 1 point of smash/letal and works great with wave and combat jumping. But this is another build and not for mm.
If you prefer think MU or SOUL mastery could be the best; and if you did a necro/dark think soul fits better in your toon :)

thanks guys you have all really helped out alot...But i think im going to go with soul mastery because of the -acc power, and because the holds go good with my play stly....thanks again for all your help

You know, this process could have gone a whole lot faster if you had just listened to me and Aurrius. Sometimes going on blind faith alone is the right answer.
