The Pirate of the Burning Seas is actually really completely open beta. You don't need a paid subsc-ription to FilePlanet as posted earlier in the GameAmp news section. The free sign-up is good enough to get you a key, download the game and start Arrrrrrggg...
(that last part was me being stabbed in the back by a greedy pirate that wanted all loot for himself.)

And that's a shame. Phe's full name would fit the world.
Well, she can always use it on a US server I think.

Hehe.. When I came into the Beta there was still only one server and all the nations were ''very heavy'' except for the french.. So I picked them cause then atleast i could get in. -_-
I expected the same to happen on the EU server so i thought i'd better go with ''ze french'' again. :)
So..

You know, I could half accept you bein' a pirate. I mean scratch an Englishman and that's what you find, but you're a Frog?!?
Hmmm, I would've thought Spanish would be the least played faction on the EU, unless they get a german client which misspells Espanol into Deutschland :-D
Anyway, although I on the one hand applaud them trying to prevent cross-nation friendships / communication for balancing purposes I think it's futile as long as things such as MSN & Ventrillo exist. So the net result is juest an encumbrance to people.

Yep, I think it is very strange we can't talk cross nation. I am quite sure historically they talked quite a lot with each other and made all kind of shady deals. They were all mostly in it for the money, not for some weird national pride. Or even coalitions of two nations against one extra powerful. Why would they leave that out? Hopefully they'll change it.
