it has been a while since my last thread on amp but i feel it necessary to make another one! as you may suspect from the title i'm having some trouble completing this quest. i am an elementalist and i have tried the longbow + apply poison, shadow form and spirit spam + painful bond. none of these are able to kill the griffon. i can get it down to about 1/4 health but either my shadow form runs out which equals death or my spirits die and he runs away.
I now ask the wonderful people here if they have any suggestions as to how i can beat the griffon and complete the quest.

If this is the boss in Gunners use this build. BTW You will obviously need to change secondary to Rit.
Vampirisim
Pain
Bloodsong
Wonderlust
Shadowsong
Dissonance
Anguish
Painful Bond
Get all spirits up and then attack. Put painful bond on him and go for it.
This works for any profession and its helpful to have as much energy as possible.

hehe you are a little confused. i am talking about the griffon you have to kill in the quest cold as ice. i actually tried that build on him and it didnt work.

I use Necro as my secondary for my Ele to beat the griffin and made minions and used jagged bones on them and death nova. They done all the work for me. It was pretty much just a MM build. You have time to make enough to block him in and sometimes he doesn't make his spirits or in my case I used meteor storm as well to prevent it. I do know this method works cause I just beat him today. I died as well but he died first so I still got the completion. Oh also take blood of master to help your minions health and to give you more time to cast jagged and death nova on them.

Im a necro I used grenths ballance.. perhaps if you use maelstrom or combine with a fire build to kill him and his spirits a little.

<- same problem.
and it's not getting easier, since a new update the Ghostly Griffon actually has a extremly high Auto Health Regenration, so you can't kite it anymore either.
Grenth's Balance, 4 interuption moves or Minnion Army's are the only thing left...

I too had some major difficulties with this Griffon as an ele but as with Cross, i reccommend Minion Mastering as the way to go. Thats how i beat him. Use Animate Bone Minions on the wolf corpses lying about, bring Blood of the Master for healing them up, and i think you can help offset the loss of health with Aura of Restoration. Let the Minions box him in then if you can, nuke him good.
I managed it this way without this much difficulty and as the minions took the agro, didnt take any damage.

i had never seen/heard of this boss before, because i don't like doing quests other than primary but i needed a skill which you get from the reward :P
i got him down on second try with my monk (after first seeing what he was/did o.O)
i went mo/me with
conjure phantasm
conjure nightmare
phantom pain
ZB
just cast all the degen on him and run, recast when he's still or casting spirits...
i don't get it how u can have difficulties with that griffon thing, just degen and run, don't get hit by him and neither too much by the spirits and it shouldn't be a problem :p

right when he drops down cast ruby djinn, when hes targetable cast barbs than EVAS, cast ursan and spam the attack skills, within a few seconds it should be gg

i want to thank you all for your suggestions. i was able to beat the griffon easily with a combination of minions + barbs + ursan blessing.

can someone point a strategy out for a warrior? cause with 20 energy I haven't got much chance to hex him or make minions -.-

Use grenths plus sever and some interupts. The hard part is how you play it. I interupted Shadowsong and something else after i had done some damage and used grenths once, he ran away from his spirits,like out of there range. I pursued him and body blocked him so he was on a wall and couldn't run anywhere. He pretty much didn't do anything then, like when baddies get body blocked in AoE and don't do anything. I just pounded on him and sever plus my sword attacks finished him off.
