I'm thinking about a new tanker.
I want to use Energy Melee as the offensive set.
And the defensive set should either be Invulnerability or Willpower.
So I just want to collect some thoughts and opinions about that.
Fore example:
How fierce is the hp lose from Energy Transfer?
Does the improved regeneration of the willpowerset make up for it, or is it better to have a self-heal like Dull pain?
Anything else to consider?

First of all, Dull Pain shouldn't be considered as a heal, if you ask me.
Second, the HP-loss from Energy Transfer is almost nothing. On my Brute (at level 50) it's about 130HP, and he has 2033 total. Imagine that on a Tanker with either Dull Pain on or High Pain Tolerance from Willpower, and you'll find out that it really is NOTHING.
Also, about going for Invulnerability or Willpower... hm... tough choice. I've been duoing my Willpower Scrapper with an Invulnerability Tanker and as far as I've seen (we're both level 30 now) Invulnerability is a lot better at the lower levels, whereas Willpower really starts shining at the higher levels.
I would personally go for Willpower, they make amazing tanks, and with the right slotting, you can be at the HP-cap permanently.
