Okay so I was tryin to start up WoW and I get this error saying Cannot find Interface.mpq or some crap like that I click okay and i get a special WOWERROR! It says:

Actually, you would be suprised what you can find for errors like this with something as simple as Google. Direct answer from a "blue text" posting dev: Delete and re-load the game.
The corrupted file can not be individually replaced, and this may just be the tip of the iceberg. With a lot of software packages and some of the linear startup processes, you are only seeing the first program that has been corrupted, and it's blocking you from seeing the next, potentially corrupted file.
Sorry bud. I know I'd hate it if I found out one of my WoW files had gotten corrupted and I had to re-load all of it.

corrupted files can be fixed with the REPAIR.exe file in your world of warcraft folder. No need to delete your whole game...waste of time. Just run repair.exe a 2 or 3 times and reset everything.

It's not that bad to reinstall it, doing patches can get a little bleh, but when its not high-peak patching hours (like after a new patch) they go pretty fast.
Sorry about the error, I've have a lot of experience with computers being R-tards. Wish I was a computer technician. =D

yeah that could have done it, turn off your anti-virus while patching. May I also suggested norton/Symantic anti-virus, I use it and it works great most of the time and I have never had problems with it and WoW. I told it to ignore wow. Maybe you can ignore wow on yours? Tell it to ignore those files.
What do the rest of you guys use?

Ugh...I uninstalled and reinstalled WoW and when I log into the game it automaticly stops at Authenticating that it says Unable to Validate game version. This is soooo messed up...

I use 'Symantec-Norton Antivirus' it works quite well, nothing ever gets through. It's so strong I have to deactivate to turn on my iTunes. (I turn it back on though when iTunes gets settled.)
Turns out my WoW was all messed up, so I had to reinstall it. The discs didn't work so I had to download it from the WoW site, which took forever, and then I had to do the repair tool again on it. Now it's fine, the patching didn't take very long at all and I'm about to install BC.

I use McAfee as my anti virus. I haven't had any problems with it so far, and every time we get in a downloader situation it gives me a pop up asking if I want to allow the Blizzard downloader or not.
I can probably add it to a list of trusted sites so it stops, but I like the little reminder that it's working. I also have to download in sections when I do it because of my slow a$$ connection. After I approve it the first time, it stops bugging me when the downloader restarts again after a disconect.

make sure you reinstall or redownload with anti-virus turned OFF!!! That will corrupt your files...I dont know why you wouldn't be able to authenticate...it is possible it was the authentication server though I dont know.
