So I've read what there is to read from the Pirates website, but I'm still interested and curious abotu the range of character options. Not about appearance, but about I guess professions. I understand the 3 nations & Pirates as a "race" almost, but what are the options beyond that?
What are some neat character concepts you've run across? I want to ask this of the beta-testers (I know you're out there!).

Ill point you to the Careers tab we have here under Game Info.
To sum it up you've got:
Naval Officer: Big shops, fighting enemies of your nation.
Privateer: Can be seen as the same, only isnt an official officer. Is seen as a pirate and scum to other nations.
Pirate: Dont think i have to explain.. A pirate!
Freetrader: Focusses on the economy. Merchant ships, fast ships.
Check out Pirates of the Burning Sea... Yarr! We got some interestin stuff goin on!

I'm guessing big shops = big ships.
Thanks! It's food for thought. So 16 different combos... unless you can't be a naval officer for the pirates.

Ah.. Now the Pirate nation doesnt have any ''careers''.
The thought behind that is.. You're a pirate, you can do whatever the hell you want! ;P

Aye, Pirates are Piratical-Navel-Freetrading-Privateers :D
The thing I've been seeing though, is that freetraders are really easy to level up, close with Navel Officers and Privateers, whilst pirates, well, easy, but takes longer for sure.
