Ok, firstly I put this in the Rant and Rave cause it made me very stunned, angry, and sad...in that order. Second, besides venting about it to help me just get over it, I wanted others to be aware of this just in case you are using or plan to use this dungeon to get all or part of your survivor title.
First just so you know, this is my 2nd Survivor attempt. I had lost my last one just shy of 1 mill due to me being stupid. I deleted her and restarted right after and made this character. She was 33 days old. Yesterday, I took her to Gunnar's to try the Punchout Tourney..well more precisely, the Irontoes dungeon to elevate her a bit more. I at least wanted to get her to level 2 quickly, then do the rest by ascending and capping. So, here I am playing, doing well...had a few scary moments but I handled them. I am halfway to level 2, thinking I could easily make it that night. I get knocked out by the first damn ettin...no problem, except that I notice while she is down, she still has 7 energy when it should be 0. Odd, but I repeatedly click the get the hell up button until my energy bar is full and the purple +1's stop floating up above her head. I then sit waiting for the timer to reach 0. It does, she stands up, takes one step....then KNOCKED OUT...returning to Gunnar's in 5..4..3..2..1. I was shocked, I just sat there dumbfounded. I still want to weep thinking I have to do that ALL over again. Maybe I am just not meant to have a dumb survivor. Maybe I just suck...maybe the game is conspiring against me. I don't know for sure, but it made me angry and sad. I mean, I did everything right and still lost it. Yes, it is a game...but gosh darnnit..I had worked hard on her off and on the 33 days she was alive, not to mention the money put into her for her armor and such. Grrr
So, there it is. Just be careful when doing this with a Survivor character, and if you get knocked out but have energy left...maybe keep clicking the button until the timer stops. Maybe that is what I needed to do, I just don't know. I do know, that I wasn't galvanized to redo her just yet. I am too disgusted to even think about it. But if by chance I do, and I am able to max it..be prepared for a screenshot. lol

its she a necro? because that ahppens to me all the time. i make sure soul reaping is set at 0 before i go in, becuase youll need to keep clicking past your max energy if you got some by SR

Well thanks for some of the tips. I feel your pain. I lost suvivor only when i was painfuly close to the title. Then i did it again and lost it befor i even go the first rank. The strange part is that i felt just as bad both times even though the first time i put in like 30 day and the second time i only played about 6 hours. Well this time i will survive and good luck to all u wouldbe survivors out there.

Yes, she is a necro...and why the flippen poo didn't anyone share that with me before??? OMG...how annoying. lol Oh well, if I remake her, you can bet I will keep that in mind. I doubt I will ever forget it now. They need warning labels on some of these things for dummy's like me. Guess I am the reason they put the warning not to put lightbulbs in your mouth. lol j/k
Thanks for the sympathy and encouragement Lucifer. Tho, I am still too disgruntled to remake her. Just too disgusted. It is one thing to have it happen cause you were stupid..paniced (sp? that doesn't look right) like my first one..it is another to do it all right and still get the boot to the face.

i got 665,890 thro caps and doing that.... then i lagged out by the ettin and i tryed to relog for 10 mins when it let me back in i was dead... my paragon is now forever stuck at rank 2...

Coincidince, I've been leveling my Ranger to the Survivor title too..I already had (1) and was on 250.000xp ( not really that much, but well I spend 13-15 hours on it ). I toiught, hey let's try out the Punchout Tournement and the others, to see if it's true that you level so fast this way..So I was doing it for like 10-15 minutes, and got + 20.000xp..Doing quite good! But, on a certain moment, whole Guild Wars freezed, and I got disconnected..When I got back on, I had 1 death, so I failed..So I think questing and capping is better then doing Solo Quests, because when you're with a team you can get rescued out of the place of "hell"..In a Solo Quest..You're just death when disconnected..
Oh well, I'm going to try it again, hope I got more luck this time!

I currently have tier 2 on a monk and 1 mil experience. I am getting kind of nervous because i am getting so close, could someone please inform me where this punchout tournament is.

meh i had been working on a survivor prior to gwen, through ascencion and vanquishing...now theres really no work needed to be put into it with all the survivor xp farming areas

yeah survivor does'nt feel so grand these days, ive maxed it on 2 chars, 1st was thru hard work and effort!
but the 2nd time i did the puch-out tourny and maxed the title in about 2days (easily could be done quicker!)
it really is a simple title to max now, if i had another char slot to feel then i would get it again just for the sake of it :P

the punchout is in GW:EN
and serenity,
i tried to get survivor once, but i stopped trying from all the frustration, and the punchout is a very frustrating way to try and accomplish survivor.

The Punchout system is ..fast BUT! very risky..If you get disconnected, or whatever the case is that you can't do a thing anymore..You're doomed..I had it yesterday, got on 250.000xp, was doing the Punchout Tournement, got disconnected and I got 1 death..
I think questing and capping takes longer and is bit expensiver, but it's way more safe!

the survivor title just got too easy because of two things:
the punchout and the fact that you can now get into gwen at level 10.
I took my NF necro to gwen at level 10, got some maxed armor, 2 maxed heroes, and went to gunnars to punch my way to survivor. Less than 10 runs later I'm a survivor.
Now? I guess I'l head back to NF and do the rest of the basic quests.
My previous atempts all died around their early teens due to my stupidity

I just hit survivor r3 on my ele last night. Did it the more secure/safe way. (well, sorta).. Got him down to the kurzick FFF place with the help of my guildies and then hFFF'd him to r3. Helps to work on the survivor title and the faction donation at the same time. Got me to around 700,000 donated by the time I was done. (about 100,000 was on a diff char)

Thanks everyone for your imput and trying to make me feel better by letting me know that I am not alone. lol I still am not up for redoing her quite yet. Just too frustrated. Heck, I haven't even been in the mood to get on the game since then either. Just feel overwhelmed atm with all I think I need to do. lol Yes, silly, but truthful.
Anyway, have a feeling I will do it the old fasioned way, even though I lost my first survivor like that. Just is easier on me when it is my fault then when the game jacks me.

i feel your pain. cept i lagged on ym last attempt.
my ele had gotten to lv11 last night, which is the farthest i have ever gotten, until i lagged under the stomper bell in the Jokanur Diggings mission. it was on its way up as i walked under, but then got stuck on ground zero and lost connection. i hurried to sign back on only to see that "your party has been defeated" message, screwing up my chances FOR THE 20TH TIME IN 3 WEEKS.
i was on a broadband connection, and yes, I HAVE FINALLY FIXED IT, cause all my other MMOS and shooters play well on MP online, so i know for sure its their servers now.
thanks anet for all the shady business you seem to enforce on certain players, especially me. it sucks the only thing i can do now is waste server space and not let that extra person into (random district number), because that is the only thing i can do now, and it feels great. i cant farm, quest, sell items, buy items i want thru merchants or trades, and can't enjoy this game to the fullest anymore.
i like it just enough now to sign on and watch all of the immature conversations that never get reported or watch as a new player gets scammed by a veteran. if i could report something like it i would, but then you decide to kick me out, for "My Network Login Has Expired." what the F does that happen? as far as i know, i was in the middle of the mission, but- oops sorry, i forgot i didnt start this thread.

LAG FTL! Literally, I get pwnd in pvp all the time from lag, i rez then im attacked cant move b/c of lag and im dead. Sometimes its me sometimes its the sever (more often than not the server!)
But anyway, I feel your pain!
