I really like rits, and mine has to be one of my favourite chars. The good thing about them is, if you want to go for damage, you have channeling magic and comminung (a.k.a. spirits) to work with, and the rit is fairly well equipped to get some big hits in with this lines. If you feel like a change, really need a group or if there are no monks in the area, the ritualist is also surprisingly good at healing. There will always be people that say rits are the best at healing, and also those who say they are nothing to a monk, but I reckon they can do pretty well! at 16 communing, the basic heal spells for 5 energy heal for more than 100, and of course you have weapon spells as buffs.
As for armour, while you're just starting with the char and saving up for the big guns, 1.5k kurzick always looks good and isnt too expensive. This gives you something to look good in before you go for the 15k (if you wish). As for that, there are many good looking elite armours for a rit, but I would suggest norn, 15k canthan or ancient, as they are all very unique.
Hope I could help you.

I think you would be better off making a N/RT so you can take advantage of Soul Reaping for energy. I use a N/RT build on one of my heros and it is awesome.

Ritualist is definitely recommended by me. It is my favorite class to play by far and is versatile. As said previously, you can through defensive spirits to help out your healers, or go channeling and kick some ace. My favorite nonelite so far is probably Energetic was "Insert What's Here Faces Name Here" because i like 6 pip energy regen, no matter how long it lasts.

I'd definitely go for a rit, they are a great class to play in PvE and PvP as people said, channeling spells and communing spirits can lay down damage like its nobody's buisness, and resto rits can heal as well if not better than a monk all round excellent profession

I'd definitely make one if you haven't already. Tons of damage, spirit spam, great healers, they're just so versatile...and plus you have VWK farming too!
Cheers

if you want to make a rit make a rit spirits made by necros arent going to have spawning power and energy on rit is not as important as people seem to think... most energy skills people put on necro rit heroes are 5 energy.
so you lose the advantage of having spirits that can take more than one hit and you gain soul reaping from the spirits that die ok lots of energy :/ good for healing thats about it. perhaps people who play necro might also want to comment.
I tryed the builds and yeah they are effective for healing.
I tryed using damage spirits again and again they die before they can fulfil their purpose
I tryed playing rit
I tryed playing necro
I'm repeating myself, I'm repeating myself

In pve rit spirit spammers+necro minion masters have pretty good synergy. I mean almost 20 extra allies aint to bad is it?
