Uhm.. I don't want to get you upset and all but.. I think you got a virus dude. I've had something like that too, the computer was always making the "working noise" and sometimes I got a message from windows saying I didn't have enough free work space to open a folder (leave alone gaming). I just re-installed my PC so it wasn't a big deal to do it again, but I think you got 3 options:
1. Delete all drives and re-install Windows again.
2. Put all your documents on an empty USB stick or something like that. Than re-install your PC and scan the USB stick for virusses, hoping it can delete your virus and you still have your documents.
3. Wait a while and hope someone finds an other explenation for your problem.
I hope this helps a little =]

The rule of thumb when you have a confirmed virus infection is to reload. You never know if your computer is being used as a bot or has backdoors opened up allowing someone to install more malware.
The two software pieces I use to remove spyware are:
Spybot: [free]
http://www.safer-networking.org/en/index.html
Ad-Aware: [free]
http://www.lavasoftusa.com/products/ad_aware_free.php
Install them both, update their definitions and run some scans. Let us know the outcome.
Also the following is good to block malware/spyware sites:
http://www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/hosts.htm
This works with all browsers and all Windows OSes.

Well if you everything in one line, without any ,.?!"' etc. it is normal that I don't understand what you're saying. You said "I reinstalled 5 times". Did you reinstall cows 5 times? I thought you meant GW ofcourse.
So don't flame us saying we have to read before posting. We are helping you and you don't give us the information we need.

well, only 2 things come to mind
1 check to see if your memory is working at full capacity (happened to me once, half gig stick was running as 64meg)
2 assuming you have xp running, check msconfig and see how many programs are running at start up. windows has a habit of turning things back on after doing systems updates
hope that helps

I would suggest the Lavasoft adware program listed in one of the above posts. Its what I use but you have to make sure you check the boxes after the scan and delete the malware.
Then download mem86 (simple google search should find you the file) With many dual core processors the memory is run in a mode where two stick of ram are used simultaniously. This program will detect errors or shortcomings on the memory sticks.
Lastly, you can get a free trial version of AVAST! antivirus from the AVAST! website. I suggest it for everyone. When I finally kicked McAfee and replaced with Norton, I was content, but read about AVAST! and thought I would give it a try. Upon loading and doing a real time boot scan, AVAST! found a dormant set of files that passed McAfee and Norton, gave me the option to delete and/or repair the files. By far the best antivirus program that I have used so far. Oh, and it also found a file on my cd rom that I used for real time backup and searches rar files as well. Found about 3 files that slipped passed the so called "Leading Antivirus programs"

OK, your post looks like it was typed by a 5 year old. You don't use Capitals or punctuation. Not to mention English doesn't appear to be your first languauge either. So don't get your panties in a bunch when people don't understand you. Ecsp since you're asking for help. If I wouldn't get banned I would tell you where you could put that broke PC. KY Jelly and a trip to the emergency room would be involved as well.

if you completely formatted the drive and the same problem persists then perhaps your RAM is just ship? other than that i really dont know what the problem would be

When you said you reloaded 5 times, are you deleting your c:/program files/guild wars folder? Make sure you make a backup of your skills folder though so you can keep them all. I had a friend of mine that was having problems with gaining faction in PVP and she had to delete the folder and reload from scratch cause when she just tried uninstalling and reloading, the same problem would exist.

hmm well if you reinstalled windows 5 times then its probably not software unless you are installing the same problem software again and again.
perhaps it is hardware. I'm getting the idea that all programs are running very slowly and your getting cpu usage thats excessive... you realise that games do tend to use a large amount of cpu time and they are resource hungry its actually common to have 100% of your cpu used at certain points like when its loading up. one thing that would be most common in freezing applications is a lack of random access memory. Sometimes memory can become damaged and the computer will use different parts of that stick of memory. it gets filled up quicker or it uses damaged memory and you get errors.
My advise is buy more memory you can never have too much (might even work), or perhaps you could try diagnosing the problem. I wouldn't like to diagnose a problem on a complicated system like a computer without much useful information. I think it was einstein who once said "repeating the same experiment under the same conditions and expecting a different result is madness" (5 times is desperate).
