You guys remember Diablo? Well...The team that created Diablo recently released a game that closely resembles the style and gameplay of that marvel of time consumption. Hellgate: London can be best described as a mixture of World of Warcraft and Diablo. Instead of a "top down" third person experience, you have camera angles that are much like WoW (or even our beloved CoX). The setting is a post apocalyptic world where groups of survivors are attempting to defeat the ghouls, beasties, and baddies that destroyed humanity. There are 6 ATs, and they range from sword wielders to armament experts to pet masters to technical sorcerers. While I haven't subscribed to an online account, the website references guilds and teaming capabilities.
All in all, I've really enjoyed the experience, and I thought I would bring it up for everyone that misses Diablo. You can find more information here.
Enjoy. :)

Look at Mal pimpin other games, isnt he cute? I would love to try this game but it will have to wait. There was a huge buzz about it but havent heard much since.

I've had the account active for the last 6 months or so, but I haven't really been logging on that often. I jumped on to try out the dual wield, but that's the last time. I'm sure my interest will peak again pretty soon, but I've been playing solo games lately because it's easier to stay at my own pace.
And I would never try to sway people away from CoX. I just know that I always missed Diablo, so I was stoked when Hellgate dropped. It's amazing how closely the gameplay is imitated. Not too long ago, I was hurting so badly for some Diablo action that I downloaded it on the new PC. Unfortunately, Blizzard no longer supports Battle Net, so it wasn't the same. Eh...

Some things I have learned about Hellgate from Beta:
When using swords it turns into "Click, Click, Click, keyboard 3! click"
Guns are cool

game rules... though since it's recently out... (went live Halloween) there are some bugs... there's no subion fee unless you want some extra perks... and yes... it is just like what diablo used to be... not to sway anyone away from my favorite game ever... but it is a good place to kill a bunch of demons...

There is always room for more than one game. I dont see it as people trying to take me/you away from CoH/V but to expand your horizons.
When you started playing video games, you didnt just play Super Mario Bros...no....you played more than one. You didnt just keep playing Halo...no you moved onto Halo 2 and Halo 3.
Same thing works for MMOs. I have played WoW, Tabula Rasa, Guild Wars, DDO, Lineage 2, LOTRO, CoH/V, and tons, tons, tons of over free online games (plus some other betas). But I know that I will always love City of Heroes the most and know I can come back at any time....as long as the game continues. I actually just came back to said game....very much enjoy it still.
