IO or not to IO

Hey ampers Vill side. Just getting a discussion going. IO's the cool but almost confusing part of the game. At times you don't know what to pick or what to do. Especially money. So I have a few questions and I'm sure a lot of you do. So on my MM would it be better for me to get recharge IO's and 25 or just stick with SO's. Not to mention money is a pain unless you farm. And I don't like farmers thats a different story. So any questions or advice on IO's?

RE: IO or not to IO

Well, if it's just the regular IO's you're talking about...that's simple. The level 35 IO's are equal/little better than the level 52++ SOs, and they never run out.

Now, I've never had issues with money to craft/purchase/sell anything I needed...actually, I have more infamy now as a lower level than I did before they instituted the whole BM concept into the game. So, that shouldn't be an issue to do missions, sell anything you don't want/need for a profit to create extra infamy for the IO's you really need.

Now, the IO sets, now those are a little trickier...those are the ones you have to plan out and map accordingly to how your toon is built and playstyle allows. I believe each person builds their IO sets a little differently than the next person. All I can say about the sets are, look for the set(s) that will maximize whatever you want to maximize, look for the set bonuses and see which bonuses will fill in the gaps to what your toon is lacking or what you want to further enchance....increased acc, dam, knockback, etc.

RE: IO or not to IO

A short while back we had a lively discussion about IO's too. Have a read here. Since that time I changed my mind a bit on IO's.

Currently I am selling (nearly) everything while below level 32. Money is no longer as tight as it used to be anymore thanks to the abundance in salvage and recipes. Most recipes I just sell direct to the quartermasters. It seems more profitable than the black market.

I am still mostly lost on sets. I know it is handy to have multiple IO of one set, but you can't have more than one of a set per power. And most sets only fit in one maybe two powers it seems. But I am not really worried. I am still the most villainous villain around, so I don't feel I miss anything.

After 32 I start slotting IO's. But just slowly. Since I have a large number of respecs thanks to the veteran awards it is almost free to upgrade my SO's. I do a respec at 27, 32, 37 and sell my old SO's at full price, and get new ones for just a few 1000 infamy more. And as the number of IO's is steadily growing after 32 so is my infamy. Muahahaha!

Well, you're right, but not right :)

You can use more than one IO set per power. I've done it plenty of times....just depends on the set bonus you're looking for. There are several Enhancements that can only be used once per toon though...so you'd have to careful where and how you slot those.
