Just wondering what spec should i go, i was thinking Shadoweave as the 3 piece set is nice (im a frost mage), would it be a good set for a mage?
also are the only real differances with the specs in tailoring really just the 1 set each?
Where is the altar of storms? is it like the horde version of the moonwell? (played war3 so i know a small bit)
And should i really be a frost mage in a pve server, gonna start doing pvp at lv.70, (3 more levels).
ty for the help:)
p.s. i heard from guildies that Wraith of the lich kind will be released in late feb/ early march, how true is this?

Well if you're going to be PvPing at 70, frost is really good, but keep in mind that yes shadow weave set is great for PvE, for PvP you might opt for the PvP sets, especially now with the S1 being available without having to do arenas it is a great start kit. Stacking resilience and stamina for the PvP toon is a must.
Altar of storms, or altar of shadows? to craft the shadowcloth? If that's what you mean then the altar of shadow is in SMV at 58,71.
Altar of storms are those 2 structures one in Blasted Lands and the other in Burning Steppes.
about the expansion ask Dru she might I have no idea, but I doubt it will be in feb/march.

Yes, frost is a very viable pvp spec, especially in the arena.
And as for WotLK, I think it will come out this year, if you can wait a few months... get that and the greens are equivalent to Tier 4, so you shouldn't waste your gold on Shadowweave/whatever set.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Years, everyone.

Thanks for the compliments guys, I have played mage a long time, but I still have learning to do on some things :-P As for the shadowweave set, some people would give their left leg for it! So yeah its a good set if you are a frost mage, the set bonus's are worth it and it is SUPER easy to make! The shadow primals are easy to get as are the primal waters from fishing and killing the elementals in nagrand, so you shouldnt have any issue making it and being uber in it. It will make a great set for PvE and PvP until you get some tier 5 or Gladiator 2 stuff. I use my spellfire belt still and I am an arena mage with a full gladiator set. (I am fire, yeah I know fire and arena big faux pas but it works for me!) The belt is truely one of the best belts you can get, so I say go for it. The gloves and robe are amazing and definately worth the set bonus, who can go wrong with health regen?
Ok second question, only difference is the tailoring sets, and instead of 1 cloth you will get 2 for the spec you choose. So no, no difference at all. Its 3 peices of gear difference. And everyone can learn the bags.
The Altar of Shadows is where you want to go and is located at 58,71 in shadowmoon vally, you must enter the Netherwing pass which starts at 62,63 to get there.
Should you be a frost mage? No, no one should be a frost mage IMO...but thats because I like fire. But with that said, if you LIKE being a frost mage go for it. And if you like doing PvP you will have an easier learning curve as a frost mage, especially if you are used to it. You should do the spec that makes you happy and that YOU have fun with! If that is frost then do it. If you go shadowweave then definately stay frost. It can be a lot of fun.
Also your guildies are full of crap and dont know what they are talking about, Wrath of the Lich King will not be out in Febuary or March. You can tell them that from an industry insider and then link them this message if you like. At the EARLIEST it will be November 2008.
Hope all this helps you.
