do you reckon its because there was so much lag and people didnt get the hats at the time?

Yea, I figured that is why. They did hold the Dragon Festival twice, cause of connection issues.

I doubt it cause the hats were placed in your inventories and not dropped like the presents.

I doubt it cause the hats were placed in your inventories and not dropped like the presents. |
the lag was soo bad at times that people were being disconnected. and disconnected=no hat in inventory.

It's a nice initiative, I hope they will add the temporary possibility to get the previous hats too.
That way I can collect the hats I was missing.
I'd really like most of the hats :(

Id like to get the 2005 Halloween and Wintersday Hats, That Tengu festivel hat fomr the bginning of factions or something i dunno and the kamadan witch hat from Halloween 2006 when i didnt have NF yet.

Nice initiative from Anet, though I want them to do this with the Halloween '05 and Wintersday '05 hats. Was forced to miss them cause I didn't have access to GW during the finale's :(

They should make an update so that you can retrieve the old hats before the Hat NPC was added. I mean I've been playing GWs for a lil over 2 years and before hat npc was added I trash all my festival hats. I mean the hats were kinda cool but it is useless when ur on mission or farming thats the reason why I trash them.

So let me get this straight,
You can now get your hats easily but *just* visiting the Festival Hat guy, getting your Xmas hat, and that's it?
Niiiice, (NOT) i'd almost pity everyone that's been waiting there for hours at an end just for THAT hat.

Anet has failed me yet again. Basically, not only do the people with bad computers and connections get the crap-hats, but people who went out of town or just didn't log in get em too. Wh-hich brings me to my next question, why can't I get the first-year hats?
