| What makes me angry in GvG... |

|
I hate all those teams that rely on 1000% block and making you have -100000000% chance to hit.
Teams that have Aegis, SoD or Guardian, Ward, Blind etc etc. Go die in a fire and learn to kite ffs. Get monks that know how to preprot, youll survive against better teams with those than with 1000% chance to block. Yes, I know your team probably sucks and cant go near an enemy if they can be hit, learn to mitigate damage, learn how to cancel your frenzy.
Anyone thats in a team with me knows that as matches go on against these teams i get more and more pissed off until i decide to just run off and kill their flag runners (who inevitably have Weapon of Warding) but at least i can actually hit those...
So yea, I guess the point of this post is: Bad players, learn to play instead of trying to block everything.

with a little thought none of those skills are much concern to anyone, if its a blocking stance have warriors bring wild blow, if aegis is a problem bring mirror of disenchant on the mes, otherwise the mes should be backing either drain or shatter, or both and at least one interupt to catch the ward
or run a melandru derv with guiding hands :-p

offense is the best defense
i especially hate those teams who chain their defensive anthems with aegis and spam guardian as soon as u hit target once.

To me it sounds like you just have an issue with someone or teams playing in a way that you don't like, so that makes it bad. It's PvP, it's just like a war. Did we cry and tell the Japanesse to quit hiding in tunnels to do their fighting? I think the issue here is more that you just couldn't find a way to counter it. A team build is a team build, a everyone is free to run any they want. It's not up to you to decide what your opponent can bring into battle with you. Unless this is like a grade school fight and there is no doing this or no doing that. (Remember those days?)
Truthfully, you either need to learn to adapt to your surroundings or find something else to do. But crying about a build you can't seem to beat is fruitless.

I find this annoying too, but not to the extent that you seem to be xD
Just bring the easy counters, get a AoM tree, run a Rt weapon spell support, etc. If you manage to get past their blockway and blind, you'll usually just blow them up bigtime anyway, as they've spent so much resources into maintaining that web of defense.
Our guild runs a dedicated split with 2 unblockable assassins and a AoM Dervish atm, so we don't get all those frantic problems luckily. It's just being able to bring some easy counters sometimes I guess (even if that means you have to be slightly gimmick =/ )

if you look at the top few guilds, the only guild that runs blockway is rawr. This is because the top guilds know how to mitigate damage without their superdefense web of indestructability. rawr only uses it to give polly enuff time to micro everyone.
Its boring to face, and its boring to play. You just have to wait for ur mesmer to say "BSurge diverted" then me and my partner get to smash things up :) or split, which blockwebs suck at since they suck at the game anyway.
Were gonna be running a bit of a gimmicky build soon which will still have split capabilities.

One must remember there are different ideas behind the two. Like in any sport or game some pick strong offense (which you feel the more you score the better chance to win) and some pick strong defense (which you feel if they can't score then they can't win) neither is a truly false or truly correct idea. If two teams meet up with those opposite ideas to say the strong offense will always win would be false just as to say the other would always win would be. If they keep you from scoring then you can't win but in the same token if their offense is so poor that they can't score then neither can they.
So all that being said Its far better to not focus all on one area. So the best offense is a good offense and the best defense is a good defense and the best team will be the one that is good in both and not just one.

wars dont bring wildblow in gvg
melandrue dervish do but they're very rare, and there aint that much to cancel neither
mirror of disench is rarely used aswell
if you want to actually get somewhere with gvg then play proper builds and not some random crap(unless you think losing is fun(wtf?))
rawr is defensive and yes it makes the gameplay very boring ~~

You say that teams need to learn to mitigate damage. Well, excuse me, but aren't they mitigating damage if they don't take any. This was a total QQ topic. Just create a new build to work around things, like blocking.

Just make some other builds that can beat a pure block build, USE MoD, USE Melandru Dervishes with wild blow, come up with new ideas. Live with the metagame, son.

I can tell you why block meta ended, it was VERY venerable to a new eotn skil called DEFILE DEFENCES. I had an evil team build that had two mantra of recovery mesmers spamming that, and most me/n tainters and all necros in gvg ran it as a cover hex with a great effect. Also, peopel started realising that blinding and every block skill they could manage to use was over the top. People also started using more midliners and running eles, mesmers and necromancers so as to not be threatened by blocking.

You don't need MoR to use defile. It's 5 seconds. 33% of five is 2. useless. It doesn't stack anyway.
Mega-Uber-Ultra Defense balls are sick to play against, and dumb to play.You either win by enduring, or lose by.... too many factors.
Anyway,Rending Touch,Elementalists,Mesmers are some ways to counter blockway.Disruption doesn't always work due to Aria of Concentration, Ele damage doesn't always work due to it's slowness and easy migation due to it's slowness.
As a melee class, think about it, their wasting slots to migate you only. Them packing so many just proves how dangerous melee is.
I understand your fustration. Blockwat is a little AARRRGGHHHH for melee players, if not extremely ARRRARAASAAGGHHH

Losers whisping you after the battle complaining you used "Teh N00B Skillz" or they come with "We had lag, REMATCH" and stuff like that, it's really sad and i swear one day il start publishing names of these weird individuals.

Shields up is what makes me the most angry in gvg theres really nothing you can do as a ranger in a balanced build about it and it gives them a good chance to start up their aegises and DAs and all that
