Recently when I started using a virus program to handle my pc a little better. S*** on Gameamp has been going F***ing retarded!!!
Everytime I open/refresh or w/e to a page on guildwars/gameamp. I get a pretty little notice from my virus protector that it just found a virus!!!
http://i173.photobucket.com/albums/w53/Exo...usongameamp.jpg
So I move the virus the vault and delete it. (Which is supposed to get rid of it period)
But everytime I visit gameamp. It keeps coming back.
Any Solutions? .... PLEASE!!!!

All it is is the cookie they use. If you don't come here then you won't have it. Norton catches it every week for me.
Also, this has been posted a million times before.

See, IE is the problem. Good thing you have the Visrus Protector. AVG be a good one. But IE downloads everything it sees, rather you like it or not. That is just a cookie, it has poped up several time sin the past, and he has been fixed several time sin the past. Just keep AVG running and updated, and you will be fine, though I know it is annoying.
Thanks for letting us know, and we will get it resloved asap. :)

Well if you want to join the tinfoil hat club.
Get Firefox with adblocker and no scr ip t. You will not see another virus again unless you open those YOU WON THE LOTTO OF SOME COUNTRY YOU NEVER HEARD OF BEFORE.

about the fact that AVG would be a good virus scan, I dont think so.
The computer fixer(or however you call it) went mad when I told him I use AVG free edition(well not really, but he said it absulutely wasnt good at all)
I dont know a thing about the not-free edition, but he said the free editions isnt good.

Can't say s-cript because there was so many trojan virus attempts, that devs just disabled the ability to use s-cript in forums. :)

I would use AVG before I would use any "name brand", which they would suggest. :P

ahhh I see. The smart coder can get around that by using something else like a flash sig or ummm ads. oh wait.. LOL.
Did someone above say Norton. Wow feel sorry for you when You try to either upgrade or uninstall. LOL

well trend do a house call anyway the css file i belive it might be something to do with drop down menu :/ just guessing from a little search i did it looks like http://www.opencube.com/ I run avg and don't get that poping up but I use firfox.
edit : yes I forgot to mention I don't think this is a virus I think it is a tracking cookie mainly for navigation rather than advertising if I am reading that thingy correctly but then I'm no expert.
as for the metal hats
http://www.netsnitch.com/ < hack tracer goes off every x seconds telling you about every insignificant little bit of info going to every add company.
http://www.javvin.com/packet.html < packet analyser this shows where each packet of info is going the full verison is pretty cool you can see how much of your bandwidth is taken up by data within pages.
http://www.cybertrn.demon.co.uk/atomic/shelters/main.htm < domestic nuclear shelters some info on how to really protect yourself when they press the button.
you might want something a bit more practical so
http://www.crimedoctor.com/panic_room_1.htm < you really can get a panic room but wifi might not be so hot in there.

Quoting http://www.grisoft.com/ :
GRISOFT is again the recipient of the VB100% Award, as awarded by Virus Bulletin in December 2007. AVG Anti-Virus proved itself by detecting all In the Wild viruses, while generating no false positives, during both on-demand and on-access scanning in Virus Bulletin's comparative tests.
December 20, 2007
I think your "computer fixer" is mad.
Biggest difference between free and paid edition:
Free version you have to do a lot of things manually that you can schedule / are scheduled by default in the paid for version. Free version is the exact same software, with a few features disabled. The actual scanning isn't one of those. Free version just means you, the user, have to be actively involved with it. But in my opinion, that holds for the Paid version of whichever suite you use as well.
For having said all that, I do think AVG is playing panic hound on this. Only "virus" named by name that I've seen on AMP in recent months is a possible exploit in a 2 year old vulnerability in Windows HTML Help. Any Windows XP system that saw a security update since August 2006 is safe from it. Bit overeager to start warning about that. AVG isn't big on checking if the system it's protecting is actually vulnerable towards whatever exploit or malware code it detects accessing the system. In that sense AVG does provide false positives, but so do most AV suites.

Normal is the bloody worse antivirus.
Norton sucks.
Kaspersky is kewl.
AVG free is master.
However if i get viruses or trojans or whatever i just reinstall windows. (IF its a mean one thats)

avg is a great virus scanner. It is one of the best scanners out there. Some techs don't like it because they prefer Norton or Mcafee. They are use to it so any other scanner is sub-par. Not mentioning some stores/techs get kick backs for talking you into installing it.
I once uninstalled Norton. Took several hours. Why? At first norton refused to allow the install of avg because it said it was a virus. Even turned off it would not allow it saying to install another virus scanner you must uninstall Norton. Going into uninstall programs I did just that. After uninstalling not 1, not 2 not even 3 but 4 different programs just for norton I thought it was gone. Right?.. Wrong!!. Tons of files were left. Deleted those. Heck I still was not able to fully uninstall Norton from the computer but I was able to finally install avg and now runs smoother.
There are better scanners out there then avg.. some free some not so free but way better then norton or mcafee.

And now it has been posted a million and one times. The next time someone who is unfamiliar that this has been an issue before will make it one million and two times, and so forth on down the line.
Point is, who cares how many times it has been posted before. It was an unknown issue to the original poster and it worried them, so they brought it to GA attention. Does it matter if it has been posted before. I don't think so.
