Future Visions? 

We all talk about powers, TF's, respecs and PvP, but what about the future plot lines for City of Heroes?

What possible storylines would you like the devs to do in the next few issues?

I would like to see:

The completion of the Faultline re-building project and it being turned from a trial zone to a city zone.

Gang war between the Skulls and Hellions in Perez park comes to a head. Perez park is burnt to the ground and becomes a hazard zone.

Outcasts, Trolls, Skuls and Hellions battle it out for total gang supremicy on the streets. PPD call for assistance to stop periodic gang riots.

Boomtown is secured by police forces and rebuilding process takes place, but certain forces object to the building of a new power station there to power the new zone.

A new interdimensional force threatens not only the safety of paragon, but all dimensions. Heroes, the time menders, freindly rikti, nemisis, crey, the denizens of the shadow shard and even lord recluse join forces and brace themselves for a new war.

Sorry...I understand that a long time player want to see some old zones and stories evolve, but in fact reoganizing a good zone, like Faultline, isn't a good idea.
Same is true for Perez Park.

A good idea would be to rebuild Boomtown or Firebase Zulu, because I think this are the zones with the fewest heroes visiting them.
Boomtown is downright boring and FB Zulu is a nightmare to travel through if your not a flyer.

What I want to see Pvp-wise would be missions where whole teams go for different goals inside the mission, with good and evil spawns inside and player-teams going against each other.
I know that it is hard to do, but as CoH was created, they said that capes are hard to do.
;o)

Perez, boomtown and faultline are god awful maps. I try and stay away from them as much as possible.

I simply do not like or enjoy PVP so I really dont want them to concentrate on that and rather them concentrate on the plotlines and evolution of the game rather than something that not everyone enjoys.

I agree with messing around with zulu. I dont even think half the players know its even there.

But still, new issues need new plots to drive them along. Certain zones have to change to create a living breathing world.

i love firebase zulu! its especially fun if you arent a flier. superspeed or super jump are great for those jet things, and tp is helpful if you over or undershoot, but yeah i think its a great zone. i just wish more people went there.

also, i want an underwater zone, where the movement would be swimming, controlled like flight when you have no travels active, and flight, sj, and ss would increase your swim speed. there would have to be something special about the water or just make fire sets into hot air jet sets when underwater. i think it would be super-cool. there would be a bottom that you could stand on if you went close to it, and the enemies there would be the coralax(sp?) and maybe fish-people. unlike some other games, you would get a breather automatically when you go in, so you dont have to keep track of your air. if they did that, they'd have me for life probably.

I would like to see more level 30-40 content. They did some with the new Rikti War Zone but it wasn't enough. You do the first mission arc and then you're punted until level 40. That was disappointing.

I agree that Boomtown is the next one that needs rebuilt. It's huge and there is a bunch of nothingness. Faultline is not not bad but I haven't done all the missions either.

You stay away from Faultline?O.o
IMO it is the best storylinezone in Paragon City atm.
Perez Park was a nightmare during my newbie days, but now I like it (mostly).

I wold like to see some more crossing over with villians. There's baddies there that I wouldn't mind seeing over here. It would be nice to have some "double-agents" popping up here and there, too. You know, Contacts could come to the city for some recruits.

I also think the gangfighting could be broadened even more. Maybe some way high up leader of the skulls or Hellions or whoever could try to take over the city. Maybe a couple zones get a lot more action for a short while. Maybe more story arcs that explain more about the different types of baddies. I want to see the place grow and make the old stuff new all over again.

also, not too big of a deal, but maybe instead of revamping perez park, we could get a map of the forest? its very frustrating trying to find a mission. maybe it wouldnt have to be just given to us, we would open it up as we explored, like on a mission map. thats all i ask. well, not really, but it would be a good start.

Simple 1st
- slow upgrades to Faultline
- Alternate looks for travel powers (jet pack, cloud flying as in the TV series Monkey etc for fliers, jet skates or skatebaords for SS, etc ) and a way to lock one of the fly stances as a default as they are not being used now.

Harder
- new country zone, a very large one (snigger) 4ml x 10ml or so
- A few new contacts and plot lines would be nice.
- talioring power's colours and effects

Yes a country zone would be nice! Croatoa has a bit of farmland but a large area, larger than the Hollows or Independence, full of flat farm land would be good. It would give more reason to have travel powers. With wentworths teleporters, Pocket D, Super Group teleporters, The O-zone, the tram stations, theres not much reason to devote precious slots to your travel powers these days.

I heard that a moon station was being thought about. It would be great if it could be implimented with reduced gravity (making jumps more powerful but making movement slow), dangerous areas (vacuums, toxic gas, metorites etc).

An underwater area would be a great introduction for the heroes to meet the coralax. A heavier gravity underwater would slow the heroes but allow the coralax full movement. With underwater bases, we could have flooding rooms making timed missions more important.

At the moment there isnt much difference between the origins. By introducing extreame environments there could be more reasons to choose a certain origin. Technology Orgins might not be effected by the increase or decrease in gravity or be have to be constrained by the airless environments. Magic origins may be able to call an aquatic compainion to ferry them around faster in the water.

Now that City of villains is being offered free to people with City of heroes, I think alignment exclusive enemies should make more of an apperance on the other side. Gold-brickers rob a gold reserve in paragon, Portal corp finds a world inhabited by snakes, Outcasts appear sporadically in Mercy Isle etc. Still make them rare for the opposite side, but at least let them make an appearence.

Things I would like to see,

1) More epic stuff, epic classes. I have a peacebringer and warshade already, but they need to finish out the villian side epics as well. Then make new epics altogether for if you have 2 lvl 50's, then another for 3, ect. I think that would get ppl rocking out till they go comotose in front of their keyboards.

2) A revamp of the shadow shard, it needs more content. In the least a store there where they sell temp jet packs, would be a better help.

3) I know this was talked about in a past thread, but this happens too often in comics to not include it in a comic book type of MMO. I would love to see heroes go through a mission arc where they get caught up in something that ends up getting them on the wrong side of the law, and in the end they fall from being a hero and go to the villians side. Same with cov, would love for the baddies to be able to go through a arc where they find redemption and get to goto paragon city as a heroic brute, ect.

4) My wife suggests a mastermind type of archtype for heroes, she calls em sidekicks. I think theres good potential in being able to summon a horde of smaller type of heroes. Perhaps a temp power where you can summon a sidekick would be usefull as well.

3)Yep it is talked about and I still think it is a baaaad idea.
Redemption is a far to personal plot to make it storyline playable by all users.
As you mentioned it happens a lot in real comics, but re-read the stories, it is always about some personal hook.
And some ATs are just not suited to "turn".
Which brings me to 4)
the whole concept of MMs is evil...using worthless, easy replacebale minions to do the dangerous stuff...heroes are heroes cause they take the risk themself.
Masterminds don't do that!

I would like to see a chance with the Vet Rewards.
Especially the Nemesisstaff vs Blackwand aren't that good.
I would like to see more different things to choose, cause they won't fit every concept.
Why should my mutant run around with a wizardsstaff?
These powers are far to obvious to be overlooked.
There should be 5 powers to choose, maybe 1 for each origin.
But not so flashy like the Nem-Staff.

You could do what I do on some of my fliers. I have "F" binded to the Flight power, and "E" binded to the specific flight pose.

So I hit "F", then "R" (to auto-fly), then "E" for my pose.

/bind F "powexec_name Flight"
/bind E "/emote flypose 2"

I believe that is what it is call flypose 2.

Anyone know for sure.
