| Shunned because of your class/build in instances? |

After playing my first toon an alliance hunter on Malygos for months, I got tired of being denied instance runs and even quest groups simply because of my class and made a horde 29 twink pally and druid that is almost lvl 50 before I went back to gain the last 3 lvls with my hunter. My question is this...
what all classes/builds are shunned in a similar manner and what do you guys think could be done to their skills/skill trees to improve their functionality (think its more a preference thing on this server for hunter, horde side doesn't seem to have the same problem.) I think the changes to hunter skills in the last couple patches are a big step in the right direction with perhaps maybe adding a slow effect to another skill would be what I would want.

My lock and hunter get into groups pretty easiley, as long as there's enough people to form one. :P
My shaman's a bit of a freeload when it comes to instances. Just 'cos my class happens to have a healing tree, it's too often expected that I'd be a healer, so I always have to hunt for the Random spot. DPS is a bit of an iffy spot. :P

depends on what your server has a lot of, my server has a crapload of rogues and hunters so its harder for them to find a group than say a mage or shaman. There are a ton of pallies around right now but everyone loves them so its not problem LoL.

Like Dru said, it's not a skill tree issue, it's a server population issue.
With the need to farm materials to make upper level gear, potions, enchants, etc....... the Hunter class is one of the most efficient farming classes out there. So basically everybody has one. Then, it falls down to the "good ole boy" crew in your guild. You can be guranteed that the guild leaders and inner circle of the guild is going to give the first Hunter spots to the core members first. And picking up a non-guilded Hunter is almost unheard of.
I've always advised that new players asking about classes to start out with avoid Rogue and Hunter for population issues. There is less competition in the other classes for raid and instance spots. Now don't get me wrong, I love a good Hunter on the team, but since the class is so easy to survive on even if you are a weak player, there are also assumptions made about your efficientcy in the game.
It's easy to play a Hunter and survive, but it's hard to play a Hunter well.
They make great material gathering alts, and if you have a crew of regulars that you run with, you can easily demonstrate that you are not a Huntard, but truly a Hunter. You'll have to prove yourself to get into those raids.

Well almost all classes has their "bad tree for PvE" for groups and etc. But since hunters and rogues are over played the competition is bigger and almost every guild has their own hunters or rogues. But now look at this:
Druid: Either tank or heal, boomkin in group... forget it.
Shaman: You're here to heal? Right?
Priest: I'm a disc priest... lol
Paladin: Where's the dps? Pally raises hand! rest of the group roflmao
Warrior: I'm here to NOT tank... no you're not /group kick
As for locks and mages not much to say, since they only do one thing, except those locks that want to be main tanks with their pets... But as you see in PvE there are misconceptions about different classes, but in PvP some of those classes that are not used as often wtfpwn your face easily, like disc/holy priest and ms warriors :)
All classes have their ups and down, even mages for dps who are in the arcane tree can suffer sometimes if not properly geared, or locks who are demo and want to be top dps. But the biggest thing with hunters and rogues is that they are over used, especially alliance since they have a bigger populaton.

These 3 made me lmao because my shaman was asked to heal a few times and got kicked because I was enhancement. And my priest friend told me she was disc last night. My pally used to be prot but I recently respecced him ret because it got buffed alot but I haven't had any problems with it lately.

Ya I made a pally ret twink after seeing some of the more recent changes to that tree and its really fun. Especially when a rogue is confused as to how they died in just a few hits or a group of 3 whatever gang up on you and you take out two of them and get the other at least half dead before they get ya. Can't wait to get lvled a bit and have some fun in higher bg's.
What I meant in original post is on my server alliance side if they are looking for say 1-2 more of any class to fill in instance spots they don't even ask your spec it goes something like this right after invite.."ohh nvm your a hunter.. hunters can't do anything" /kick. Horde side response is (to guildies of mine with hunters.) "whats your spec? cool your mm.. another dps/cc." Guess that narrow mindedness is why its not difficult to win bg's horde side on my server.
I agree it is easier to survive without dying as a hunter than it should be.. last night between the 3 spawns I pulled and the 2 respawns I should have croaked but thx to mend pet, feign death, freezing trap, silencing shot, etc..neither me or my pet died and it was doable. (although not by much.) ohh and snake trap ftw! can't wait to use that on a target with say rank 4 hemo used on it.
