RE: xbox 360 help

well if you look on the top of the controller there should be a little circular button, if you then look to where the memory card slots are there is another circular button

if you press both of them at he same time that should sync the controller to your xbox.

Any other problems feel free to ask

Travis

RE: xbox 360 help

the ring of death is an internal error.

It basically caused by over heating and then the solder melting and the wire moving away from it and then when it cools down there is not connection between the wire and the hardware.

just so you know drag any intercoolers added to your 360 voids all warrenties and they dont actually necessaryly cool down your system.

Uhm, thought it was just an attachable device similar to the wireless adapter? If the device requires you to open a system i can imagine it voiding warranty ye.

Ahh well, guess all our Xboxes are doomed, good to know :S

yeh i thought it would just attach on aswell drag but when i started working back in gamestation, i got told i had to tell evey customer that wanted to buy one that it voids any warrenty you hold for the xbox. i dont know why but it does.

Oh right, thanks for the info mate.
And im to assume Microsoft has failed to address the overheating issue? My Xbox was hot for a solid 20 minutes after i switched of mine after those CoD4 matches.

RE: xbox 360 help

I've stopped using my nyko intercooler for some time now, I've read several places that it causes the fans on the back of the machine to spin faster then normal which can cause red rings. Also if your can sit your xbox horizontally it is a lot better because the heat can escape easier.

Hm, well what worried me about sitting an xbox was it collapsing after its been on for some time. Even slightly overheated parts are bound to be extremely fragile.

mine does exactly the same so i just let it cool down and as the person above you says its also better proberbly to rest it horizontally because that means the soldering wont run away from the wiring easier if it does cause it to melt.

Ye missread his positioning.

I lie mine down aswell, i was refering to a standing Xbox collapsing.
I paid 500Euro's for my system and its good to know i can start counting down untill my Box goes down and ill be missing my unit for a couple of weeks -_-

...We've prob discouraged half a dozen people from buying an Xbox360 so far lol!

RE: xbox 360 help

Also to anyone that is wondering you might not believe it but if your battery (The BIG GREY BOX) gets overheated that can also cause rings of death. I used to have mine just sitting on a box and that was a big no no. I would get red rings every 20 minutes or so. I now set it next to the 360 and it's been about three months since I've had a red ring of death. Just thought I mention this just in case it helps anyone else.

if you look along the power cable drag you should see a big rectangular box attached to it. thats the battery.
