Few questions

1. What will the game cost? Monthly fees?

2. Tell me a little about the game, like can you get married with another pirate etc?

-Can you own a house?
-Can you be a merchant?
-Can you fish? :P
-Can you own your own island?
-Can you form a guild of some kind, get a crew and start rolling on a see with a cool ship?

About the same as WoW. 25 euros per 2 months or something.

Cant get married.. Though you can always Roleplay that you are married.

Cant own a house.. But you can own your own warehouses, mines, shipyards and a lot more. (cant visit them though, just use them)
Cant fish
Cant own an island.
You can form a Society, which is the same as a guild and of course you can sail your own awesome ship! :D

Thx alot!

I really don't fancy the monthly fee, is there a way like in LOTR -online where you can pay about 100€(?) and not needed to pay ever again?

No, there isnt. I also love that option, hope more games will do that. But PotBS hasnt got the ''life-time'' membership. Though for 100 euros, you can play for quite a while. :)

Before deciding on being British, read this:

Exactly the same can be said about PotBS, you can replace "WAR" with "PotBS" in the quote above and get a statement that is as true. But from all I personally experienced in PotBS, people don't care about PvP there, they only care about their own advantage. If the first thing I see happening in the PotBS economy is British players manipulating the British AH to screw over other British players for their own advantage, when with a little bit more work they could have screwed the other nations instead, I don't feel as if the welfare of the virtual nation is of any relevance to the players of that nation. We'll have to see how that works out in PvP after the 22nd, but in the closed beta I only saw players engaging in PvP for their own advantage, with next to no coordination or consideration for the greater good of the side they played on. In WoW you have the AFK leechers causing their faction to lose battles in Alterac Valley.

I'd love to hear a hands on 'I am there" confirmation / rebuttal of this btw!

RE: Few questions

I've been wondering about the pros/cons of PvP since I started at the tail end of closed beta. I was able to get what I needed just by doing quests, but I've only made it to lvl 22 to this point.

Lately, I've been reading more about getting contention pts, port unrest, unrest bundles, pvp, etc. I have a better understanding of how the basics work, but I still don't feel the need to pvp. Usually a player does this for the challenge, but I read recently that pvp isn't level based. Where's the challenge in a 26 gun corvette going against a 48 gun frigate?

For those interested I found this thread to be informative.
