patch 2.4 Sunwell Raid

For those of you who havn't heard it from then new blizzcast podcast, the new patch coming up is going to include a whole new instance.

Sunwell Plateau will include a 25 man raid that requires no attunment (hurray!) and a 5 man instance that on normal drops rares until the last boss which drops epics that are about up to par w/ Kara epics. The heroic will drop epics much like the last boss on the normal setting, but the last boss in heroic mode, will drop better epics that are up to par w/ Prince in kara. The 25 man raid comes after BT and drops not class specific sets, but more like armor from what i cant tell, for example, druids and rogues both wear leather, so their armor will look the same, but the stats and set bonus will be different, as well as the color of the armor. same goes for Warriors & Pallys w/ plate, Shaman & Hunter w/ Mail etc.

New rep w/ Shattered Sun Offensive, the Aldor and Scryers have joined together and there are new daily quests waiting for you on Sunwell Isle. the amount of dailys you can complete have also been raised from 10 to a whopping 25. say goodbye to gold sellers!

It also looks like they will be making some minor changes to classes, after seeing how they work w/ the recent patch 2.3. hopefully they'll fix my rogue vanish, i highly doubt it, but i can dream cant i?

So the armor is going to be like the non-class specific D3 (Doomplate, Wastewalker, Desolation, etc.)??

Since im a nub, how does giving more daily quests make gold sellers go away? (or knowing you was that sarcrasm)

Class changes are always nice. Allthough I don't like fighting rogues it would be cool if there vanish actually worked. =]

actually, its the reason blizzard made the dailys. they did its so that people would be able to make gold a lot easier, so either the gold sellers sell it for less, or just stop selling. if you were playing wow before dailys came out, you would know exactly what im talking about, i could get 2 whispers in the span of 30 mins on some stupid sight selling X amount of gold for X amount of money. after the dailys though, the only golding selling spam i see is a lvl 1 dwarf/human running around IF/SW talking about gold selling in the /say channel.

as for the armor, no it is not class specific such as the Tier sets are. but the bonus you get for have 2 pieces equipped will be. for example if i have two pieces of the leather set the bonus could be -10 energy from mutilate, only a rogue could use that, not a druid. im not saying that that is what the set bonus is going to be, it is simply an example. and another leather set 2 piece bonus could be -10 rage from mangle ability, and only a druid would be able to use that one.

Arghhh, can you slow it down, Blizzard?

I haven't mastered every instance, every quest, and gotten every piece of my T1 thru T6 sets. For crying out loud, are you gonna gimme a chance? LOL. NVM, carry on. :-p

The dailies are for gold? Dang, I thought that what tailors and enchanters are for? Silly me, I saved the gold from every outland quest and just crafted my armor, used my own enchantments, and went 26 times into ZF for that darned vexxing cane. :O

Is it me, or people just don't wanna get of their bee-hinds and do some work to get the gold? I mean seriosly, when I started questing in Outland, I was blown away by the gold rewards, not to mention the items!

ya but the epic flying mount is 5200 gold w/ training and end game raiders need all the gold they can get, for enchants, gems, repairs etc. for some guilds they need the best possible stuff or the guild leader wont let them raid, it becomes a job instead of a hobby.

and the reason for the new raid is for the simple fact that people are getting bored, many guild have downed illidan many time and need something to do, if blizz wants to keep its top paying customers it has to give them something to do.

I'm actually looking forward to everything in the 2.4 patch *except* the sunwell raid.
My guild is just at the stage of trying to kill Vashj, so I know it's already quite possible we're not getting to see Illidan before the new expansion, let alone the sunwell.

The new daily quests are gonna be awesome though, the players need to build up the main town of the new faction to unlock the last 3 bosses of the instance, in a gates of ahn'qiraj fashion.

And the new 5-man should be fun too, the last boss on heroic mode will be a weakened Kael'thas, which I'm kind of excited about, I really want to see how his storyline progresses and whether or not we get to actually finish him off this time.
The blood elves in silvermoon city seem to be *really* behind the times and I would love to see Kael'thas get redeemed in some way to take his rightful place as faction leader of the blood elves.
I mean, seriously, does anyone here even know the name of the regent lord of silvermoon? I don't, and my main is a blood elf :P

And yes, I am aware that I'm a total geek and need to get a life ^^

I think it's really cool that they are adding more options for the casual players but at the same time for the hardcore ones too, it makes the game more for "everyone" but of course those who spend more time will get the better loot which makes it fair but those who are time limited are not that far behind. I think Blizz makes a great job keeping all players of all levels happy.

Nah its cool, your hobby is WoW. It could be gardening or making model trains, but how is that different? Your doing something you enjoy because it makes you happy. Just like the casual gardeners and model train builders. =D

I am also excited for the new patch, I love seeing new stuff added to the game. It's what makes it so different from the other ones. =]

Yeah I heard a rumor they are giving all mages pyroblast next...YAY maybe that means I will be able to use other fire poitns for good stuff instead of that POS spell!

Thanks for the patch info, I never get around to putting that kind of thing up, glad someone else did it!

first ice block now pyro....ok blizz plz do just make all the mages spell trainable so they can anal us without even specing tyvm....i mean honestly wtf are they on....ohh and make sure to lengthen the locks basic fear to 60secs, immobolized for that time and no duration reduction with instant cast.

they dont seem to understand to LEAVE A BALANCED OR OVERPOWERED CLASS THE WAY IT IS OR NURF THEM, they just nurf the class/specs that are alrdy broken....i mean talk about kicking you while your down.

Mages really arent OP either, our armor hasnt gone up much since level 60 so if a meleer hits us we are dead still.

your fire correct? wtb an arena geared frost mage 2 tell me melee can get and stay melee....fire isnt a pvp spec unless your pom pyro, and then you have use once every 3mins rofl.

the problem is when those frost mages can poly then pyro me for a 4k start then kite me for the other 2/3 of my health, trust me im a loladin and i get blessing of freedom 2 piss em off but it dosnt do anything for long...it either runs out by the time i reach melee or they steal it like whores as well as it removing my current buff reducing my ability 2 KILL...mind you i can bubble and piss them off good for 12secs b4 they kill me but thats about it...im tier/season gear mixed and I HAVE TROUBLE KILLING BLUE'D MAGES, iv been playing ret for the past 2-3yrs so yes i know what im at since pre BC i use to 3shot em with ease....

the downside to these frost mages is that there only capable of kiting lol, there pretty well done against hpriests and there mana drain and bloody locks with there 300dps life drain and i heal 1k per sec garbage :/

I am a arna geared fire mage....sorry mitch but not all fire mages suck at arena, I do great and my team does awesome. We did our fall now we are working our way back up winning 70% of our matches the past 3 weeks in a row.

I kill ret pallies just fine..its alled improved counter spell...yeah...gg...dead. I also kill shadow priests like a bag of bricks....BOOM DEAD! Holy pallies are still somewhat of a problem sometimes if they get that bubble off before I can get my counterspell off but meh I have improved dampen magic.

Either way I can kite with the best of them, I have played long enough to know how to play my toon unlike most arena mages who think ice is the shit.

Just because the nub mages with no imagination go ice doesnt mean we all have to.

saying i suck when iv played my pally as ret long b4 you even heard of wow lol, trust me i know how to play him and frost mages arnt fit. mages dont gain any real power till there 70 so saying u own lvl 40mages is no complishment sadly.

but as for fire in arena...plz do tell me why i crush them in the matter of 20secs? i dont even have a use for wrath now adays because i save my forbearance for your innitial pom pyro spam and then your gimped for anothr 3mins lol. not trying 2 be an ass of flame any1, just speaking on what i know and see. i admit most mages are nubs thats played for 3weeks at 70 but those are quite distinquishable from real mages, as for saying u own ret pallys...that dosnt take much just like mages 90% of us are nubadins, unfortunatly we cant merely end this with a brawl due 2 servers :P

but again for back on topic, im really in fear of a nice big ret nurf again as usual...theyve buffed us twice now with no recoil so its only a matter of time till they give ret another nice nurf to reduce our dmg even more....I ENJOY 3SHOTTING CASTERS ffs leave me alone lol

ok first Cr3s hush it!

Second, mitch, you assume a lot about me and my spec, you can armory me and see my spec, I do not have PoM and I do not PoM Pyro...I think its a dumb tactic to put all your eggs in one basket like that. I am an elementalist mage more than fire I guess now days since I have points in all 3 trees and am not even 31 in any of them. Though I am heavy fire I have lots of arcane and some frost in as well. I am pvp spec plain and simple, I do the most amount of damage in the least amount of time with the most amount of survivability.

If you dueled me you may win, if we saw each other in an arena you MAY win...but you definately would not PWN me because I am going to lay a hurting on you before you could have the chance of killing me.

interesting spec 2 say the least...its either outta date or you have wands spec'ed O.o ....also no offence by this but im also guessing your arena teams are around 1400's? my 2v2 personal is 1624 atm and im being held back by my partner who has 0 resil and is why i know what good frost mages are capable of :P

As for the original topic, my guild is just starting to go whup on Gruul. So we're pretty confident we won't be getting through all of the content before the next expansion, but it is nice that they are adding some lower end content since we've all seen the current 5 mans to death. Do we know of a progected release date for this new stuff?

Wat really pissed me off the other day is a holy pally called ret pallys nubs. And then I pwnt him in a duel. A frost mage was watching and he said he could kill me with 100% health, I pwnt him with 60%~ of my health 3 times in a row, he was higher than me. So yea i've kinda built up my rep a little bit haha. Still scared shi*tless of hunters though. They are teh suck.

GL with Gruuls =) my guild has yet to get enough people for it, so were still working are way through Kara and ZF. there is not a release date for it yet, maybe in the next 3 weeks it might show up on the PTR, and then it will be on there for a month at the very least.

if anyone is wanting to test the patch, the premades are available, i tried copying them to the PvP server, but it wasnt working, so i tried the PvE one and that one worked fine, so if anyone wants to play w/ me and Cr3 we'll be on the PvE server, im DLing the client right now so i dont know what kind of gear we got. Me and Cr3 plan to do ally and horde, so w/e side you chose is fine :)

edit: spoke to soon, the premades are up, but the patch itself is not, hopefully my premades will be there when it goes up, i think they will be, but well just have to see.

it also looks like this is patch 2.3.3, so no Sunwell raid yet, at least i dont think so, i think that one is 2.4, this one seems to be one that will fix bugs and other such things.

so hopefully the next one will be 2.4

edit2: the new patch is up and the our old premades are still there, me and Cr3 have ally on PvP and horde on PvE, hope to see some of you one there
