Might have been quite spooky to see own dead cat sleeping in the basket cleaned up as they buried it day before.

Who said they don't have? It's a nice story, but im more amazed about what you said.

Don't get me wrong, its very easy now, but i don't mean it offensive. But my hopes are with you that you aren't this ''nice'' outside of your home, otherwise the world surely is a place to hide from day and night. A big heart is very nice and makes you very friendly, but some people obviously can abuse your trust and believe that everything is good.

I could totally be wrong aswell, and your just a big animal lover (considering the site isn't everyday topics, and you know the lesson that humans ain't all the good type ;)

It's nice though that you admit how you felt, and im not saying you shouldn't anymore, just hoping people don't make abuse of it, already got enough rotten people out there.

Yes, I a animal friend ;), whenever I see people hurting animals I get mad and really want to hurt them like they hurt animals. ofcourse I cant do that so my best chance is to tell them to stop, but seems only violence teaches them to respect animals...

edit: did I get -10 because i said I am a animal lover? turned it into animal friend because someone probarly thought something else, /sigh...

its indeed not the cleanest thing to do, but the fact is that the dog missed his friend so much that he dug him up, and even cleaning him.

i dont think animals have feelings, forumite. because humans are the only animals who produce tears in response to emotions. and animals are dumb. not to be blunt but they are, most dont even have thumbs, or thinking ability.

They do have feelings to some level, for example, go kick any animal that is near you and you will obviously know they have pain, they don't need to tear because of it, even most ape species do not ''cry'' like humans do.

That animals and humans are a race apart, thats quite obvious (not with everyone mind you ;) But that does not mean you can just say animals are nothing at all. Yeah, i dont see why they have nerve endings, a spine, eyes, ears, and mouths i mean, they have no feelings.

Their mind is different, they are beasts of the moment, they do not keep themselves busy with the future but only the now, every urge and every need. They still feel, but never go to far as to comprehend things like death/babies/whats for dinner.

Thats why humans are different then animals most of the times.
Im not some crazy animal lover who's vegetarian if your thinking about that kind of person, but i do know they have feelings, even science can tell you that.
Besides, they have no thumbs no, humans aren't that strong either, our senses are weaker then most in the animal kingdom, we simply are always required to have our tools with us, that's what we can do.

We built houses, and modern day i wont even start about it, yes humans are superiour and have been at almost every part of this planet, but if someone would drop you in the middle of Africa (proclaimed the first place where humans evolved) with just your thumbs, Good Luck fighting off everythings that better.

We're both cursed as we are blessed, our evolution (for those that believe in it) has rendered us mostly useless in the wilderness, hence we're at one point weak, and the other strong.
Resilience is another thing alltogether though, we're a race that has profit from its numbers, as its still obvious we're not that strong against various forms of disease, even Doctors still cannot help everything.

Anyways, enough is enough, this can go looping forever, it will always result in an even point. Humans are Superiour, yet become ever more fragile.

I agree, humans have become weak.
Remove all our technology, hence just remove our clothing and put us in the wild. We will die.
We were created by sheer evolutionary luck (or bad luck), just like any animal.
Some got poison, strength, claws, fur.
We got our minds. That's about it.
Ok, we are mighty, but were no better than other animals.
As they outclass us in almost anything.
But we have found a smart cheatlike way to survive.
And so this strange, fascinating animal species called the human came to life.
And what's its gratitude? Destroying the earth.

Would have been more amazing if.. The cat was still alive and became a zombie cat. Then the cat licked the dog and the dog becomes a zombie too. finally they both go on a crime spree in zombie cat and dog car chase with flying ninja vampire cakes that use the candles like fangs. However yes a truly moving story. Lets hope the new cat helps the dog up onto the sofa like the last one did.

RE: A very touching story

how do you mean 'take away our technology'
it's as simple as this, we found more ways to survive. just like animals do.
what you're saying is the same as: take the fur of an icebear and his fat, and he will die.

people weren't really build for extreme survival, snakes have poison, tigers have claws. people have...spit and nails...YAY we can kill an ant with it :D 'dudes come here, i just found our evening dinner...aaaaant <3' our power is our brain, with it, we managed to use things out of nature for our own survival.

and yes, animals do have emotions. it's just hard to imagine if you're watching national geographic and see a shark eat it's own children.

btw...very nice story, i like it, it's like it came from a movie :O

Overall, I think animals are superior to us in many ways... one is survival.. they have to use what they have to survive. Us humans have to use knives and guns to survive. Try fighting almost any carnivore animal and living without those things.. None-the-less, animals do have feelings, you can tell they do. If you go to a pound, and pick out the one in the corner, they will usually be scared of almost anything you do, because of abuse. You can tell theyre afraid. after a while though, they get comfortable around you, and arent scared anymore.

Anyway obviously animals feel things. Sure they are far from being as emotionally developed as us but they still have simple feelings.

Animals have Tools too. Take away a lions teeth and claws and he is harmless for the most part. And people are very adept at survival .Hell we are the most adept. We live longer than most of the creatures on earth(turtles, whales and trees beat us that's about it). Also you haven't seen another species of animal conquer humans have you? If you take away everything from a person who is knowledgeable about surviving he will survive just as well as an animal.. We can train our bodies to adapt to certain things.

RE: A very touching story

First of all...strange story. No offense though...if it touched you emotionally, that's cool. I'm just saying that it made me feel weird.

Second, some of you are going way to deep into this whole human/animal/superior/tool/evolution/survival thingy :P. Just be happy that we have buildings to live in and computers to post on forums with ;).

Third (I'm getting into the debate a little)...The ones of you saying that if you took away weapons, buildings, technology, etc, etc, etc then humans would not survive. For some humans that may be true, but for others it wouldn't be. Just like in the animal kingdom, the weak creatures are killed and the strong survive. But...you can't take away our technology because that is what we humans have developed in order to survive. Just like some plants develop their own natural forms of insecticide to keep bugs from eating them, we humans have developed weapons, shelter, ways to grow and catch food, etc, etc, etc to survive. But like some of you are saying...go up against a lion with nothing but our bare hands and the lion would be eating a fine supper. Give us a gun though and we'd have a mighty fine lion rug in front of our fire places. So you see, technology is the thing that humans use to adapt and survive...just like animals use certain parts of their bodies and nature to survive.

I know I kind of contradicted myself by joining in on the survival thing, but I wanted to put in my two cents as well, lol. Cheers ^_^

RE: A very touching story

I'm not an animal lover or hater. I just put up with our pets. But to say animals don't have feelings then you are wrong. We have a rescued dog that was beat. She is very afraid of everything. Fear is a feeling. When we come home form work she is at the door wagging her tail and jumping up and down. She is happy. Happy is a feeling. I could go on, but you get the point.

Well I wish I had a nickel, For every time I fell and blamed somebody else
I'd give a ton of money to the ones I’ve hurt, And I’d still be sittin' pretty well

I've spent years losin' touch of what's right and what's real Caught up in these missions of my own
And you're tellin' me you think I’ve done so damn well While we're sittin' here a thousand miles from home

There's a hole in your wisdom, a hole in your sky
Two holes in your head where the light's supposed to get by
