Texmod

Well i decided to run texmod as usual today. I do it every day just about. And i loaded the mods up and click run or w/e. This little box popped up called " Shit Happened" and inside it said doh. I can;t fix it . Any help?

RE: Texmod

It happens sometimes, just close it and restart whatever you were doing.
You probably just pressed a button before/after you were meant to.

RE: Texmod

I've restarted 10 times + still nothing. I think sometimes when i close it it says there is a trojan. I turned off my firewall and it still happens.

RE: Texmod

thats texmod's error message, the only thing i can think of is that, it didnt package the mod correctly, or could not load it, or maybe the mod is just dogey, does this happen everytime you run a mod?, if so its most likey the mod, if not it must be texmod , i sujest that reinstall it, if that stil doesnt work id try repacketing the mod, hope that helps

RE: Texmod

Aurora, I have exactly the same problem..keep getting that error, and I tried everything..I think it's because of the videocard thingy, I installed DiRect X9 , but my video-card can't run that..So in GW it still says I'm using DiRect X8, and you need DiRect X9 to run TexMod.

RE: Texmod

Thanks, shame to see your having the same problem..Yes i have heard a lot of this "directX9" tho i have no clue what it is. I was using texmod about a month ago though one day it just cut out. Do you have any idea how i could find out what direct x i use and how to fix it. Would be greatly appreciated.

EDIT: well, i've done a few tests and. It works when i just run texmod and guildwars without any packages. Tho when i run a package it dosen't work. I deleted all my packages and they still show up as those default ones when you click on the folder. Does this make much or/if any difference?

RE: Texmod

Just press F11, and then Graphics or something, you can see it then..It says what DiRect X you're using!

Well if you can run it without mods, I think the mods are wrong..But I use the mods from the guide on this site, and there shouldn't be anything wrong with them!

RE: Texmod

You may have to turn AvG off when you want to use Textmod; or, I can't remember how, but make it so AvG won't really mess with it.

RE: Texmod

Not sure if this may help, or if it is even specific to your issue. But I noticed your anti virus is detecting a Trojan Horse in Texmod. I bring this up because last night at around 10:30 pm I got an alert that Nortons(yes I know evil..booh...bad) also detected a Trojan Horse in my Texmod. It has completely quarantined Texmod from my system. I have yet to remove the Quarantine or replace the file to it's proper location. All I know is Nortons refuses to fix it. If you read up on Texmod on Guildwiki, it does state that certain antiviral programs can recognise Texmod as a false positive, so to speak. Not sure if that is what is going on or not. All I know is we have been running it fine until all the sudden when Nortons had a new update on the 28th and boom, problem found.
Anyhow because of the quarantine Texmod has also been removed from my add/remove list and is nowhere to be found, well because Nortons thinks it is evil. Now I am super paranoid that the "Them" are watching my every move and my refridgerator may soon decide my family is a blight and proceed to terminate the invading bodies.(okay a little drastic but you get my point). So my question is if the whole "you are an evil infection and must be destroyed" rule has been applied and that is why your Texmod is not working, and why my refridgerator is looking at me funny.
Anyone else getting this Trojan Horse detected issue? and has anyone else noticed that it was very recently after a definitions update?

Thanks for the laugh. Your refridgerator? Really? Damn I thought those noises my fridge makes were normal. Now you got me paranoid. On topic tho, I believe it is a false positive myself brought on by the latest horse definition file update... however you do have to play it safe. I went through and changed all my passwords this morning when I came home from work to find the same problem.

Yeah, we changed our passwords too just in case. Though I would like to know if anyone else has had this happen the past couple of days.
