Dell's latest laptops apparantly give its users electric shocks, before you start thinking of the latest gaming laptop that now incorporates ''real'' pain effects, it's not intentional.

Funny, considering that I just got my Dell laptop about a week and a half ago. Its only an Inspiron though, but its souped up enough to run GW comfortably at least.
No shocks as of yet...

Considering that DELL used to ship Exploding Batteries, I think this is rather and definately a step up from past performances :-D

Their servers are alright though, but well... the ''mobile computer'' attempts from Dell are far from O-K.

Hmmm. I'm still happy as a pig in mud with my 6 year Lattitude 500 (without axploding battery). It's lightweight, power-efficient and has the best Wireless antennae (a rectangule the same size as the display-screen) you'll ever find on a Laptop. A real workhorse, er pony. it even runs GW in DX8 compatible mode :-)
Now if you're talking about thos "Gaming Laptops", yes they need some work.

Gaming Laptops all around need work if your asking me, my partner had an Asus ''official'' Gaming Laptop, just a week after the warranty ended (a year in use) its GPU went just too hot to handle and the thing died.
It runs, HDD boots, but no screen whatsoever, and ofcourse, becuase warranty was over one week prior to that, you can imagine the amount of paperwork and official blabla that comes with it, was a waste of time though.
I like Asus, but this was just shameful, i never recommended gaming laptops ever, and i warned the GFX should be turned down because it went hot enough to burn skin (happened once aswell), no, Gaming Laptops are gadgetries for people that want to pay on an overpriced gizmo just to say ''look guys, i got a license to brag'' which in the end isn't that special in my opinion, im not impressed by people spending more cash then you on inferior things ^^
Im sure alot of folks probably smash their desk now proclaiming me their new anti-christ on the internets, i don't mind, if their making a Gaming Laptop then it should last, the darn thing has never been rough handled, it was properly cooled indeed, and there wasn't a dust-mite in it.
Im all fine with laptops, but the Gaming Version... forget it, just too expensive and untrustable to pay alot for.
Besides, unless you lads go to LAN parties, the use of a gaming laptop is seriously then a question i wonder, unless you really like taking your games to the other room or something.
End of rant, but if you ever see a guy laughing at you when your even just browsing your local PC shop's gaming laptop section, you know who that guy is ;)

Here, I thought it was gonna be some laptop with a 4GHz quad core xeon, 6 gigs of ram and some wacky@ss dual core 1024 MB nVidia SLI graphics.
But, hah this seems interesting. I know some things about grounding and all that electric stuff so it dosen't sound too bad, but yeah your body does act as a grounding wire when that happens and luckily its not a serious charge. It's a good thing no one has had a heart attack or died from the volts hopefully that will never happen.
I have an old dell laptop from like 1999-2001 sometime between there, only problem with it is, it's in a million pieces taken apart and those pieces are gone now, just a bunch of guts, and a frame sitting in the basement somewhere. It was an attempt to take out the cracked LCD and replace it once i had found a new LCD. But i ended up taking the entire thing apart and pretty much never put it back togther because i lost the screws and parts and just forgot where everything went.
Oh well, Thanks for the info! +Cred.
