Ok...of the available Hordy race/class combinations, what would you all say is the easiest to solo?
As a CoH player, I tended towards Tanks and Scrappers. Lots of HP and defenses and reasonable DPS (Tanks), or Fair HP, decent defense and high DPS (Scrappers). However, I also played a reasonably good Blaster (Mage) as well...but I tended to just do that on teams.
I currently have a L20 Paladin and a L20 Rogue (both blood elves). However, I'm willing to begin new since they're not exactly high up there.
Suggestions? My issue with teaming in WoW is that I'm not comfortable enough with the teaming dynamic yet and am still a bit noobish with the controls of the game, so I'd rather just enjoy it solo for a while until I start getting more comfortable.

I'm Alliance so I can't comment on the Horde races, but for soloing purposes Hunters and Warlocks are the best.
I guess hunters are fairly close to blasters, but what makes them both good is the pets. Having a pet tank does wonders for survivability when your soloing.
edited to say that using your pet as a tank helps you learn about agro management with a tank so your team doesn't get wiped while your learning

pallys are also pretty good soloers on the account that they can heal themselves and take on several targets at once. if you going horde the only pally you can do is a Bloodelf

Like said, hunters and warlocks are easier on either side (alliance or horde). But if I was to choose one I would pick warlock. Why? Because it's easier to get a group with, there are too many hunters, warlocks are appreciated more and they're the most over powered class in the entire game :)

Yeah, I have one now. Tindal on Draka. He's level 20. (You can take a look at him on the armory if you want.) I have him specced as a healer though.

There is no easiest solo class in a way. All class are easy to solo with. It's how fast you will kill things that will make a difference.
Pally, priest, shamans and druids are easy mode they have healing and dps.
Mage mainly fire kills fast and the AoE makes big mobs go down fast. You cannot heal yourself so you have to know what your doing.
Hunters (especially BM) and Warlocks are easy since they both have pets. Warlocks have some way to heal themselv either through skills or soulstone.
Warriors well it's a warrior ehe :) Tanking warrior is a bit slower to solo.
You shouldnt chose your class on how easy it can be played has when you reach higher level you wont be solo has often has when you are starting the game. I suggest chosing a class you like to play and making it your main :)

Bottom line is, I want something well rounded that has the ability to solo more often than not. My Paladin, respec'd to a Retribution build, seems to be doing that well. I'm sticking with quests and enemies that are a couple levels lower, per Dru's guide, and things are working wonderfully. I dinged 23 today. I did die once when I was fighting in the south end of the Dead Scar while 2 of those big skeleton warrior guys were pounding on me and then Luzran snuck up behind me. Aside from that though, it's gone very well. I've done most of the quests in the Ghostlands and I'm working on some in Silverpine Forest (undead lands).

Welcome to the dark side Ron!
(It really is the dark side of GameAmp. The forums are black after all........)
Never thought you'd be a n00b anywhere! >^__^<
The previous posters already gave you great beginning pointers. Retribution got a huge boost in the last few patches and are great fun to PvP with. I just recently was sparring with one in front of an instance on my Warlock and they just smoked me big time. Leveling through the game will be fun as retribution.
One thing you may want to keep in mind though is end game content. City of Heroes was way behind the curve in that aspect, and WoW is almost split in half. What you do to get to max level, and what you do after. End game content is huge here. To be sure, you will always be able to find teams for the instances once you reach the higher levels on a Paladin if you want to go healing later. And a well skilled Paladin Tank is a thing of beauty to behold, but it is one of the harder Tanking capable classes to be good at if you go that route. It's very gear dependent.
Think about your top 2, not just your one favorite. With the professions that you will eventually have to start thinking of. An alt that farms for ya is a good idea. Hunters and Warlocks are awesome material gatherers, so they make great alts. It also helps with the boredom you can get with the grind at times.
I know you are a long way off of end game content. But I've seen you on the GameAmp boards for quite some time now. Just like any other gaming engine, once you get the mob reaction patterns imbedded in your brain the levels will start to flow at an insane pace.
Good to see you here bud. If you get fired up on a Warlock alt ask away. I just love to melt face on mine =D I'll be glad to help you out any way possible.

Once I hit the endgame, I'll probably spec into a Healadin. I've always liked Healer classes and as I understand it the endgame content isn't exactly solo-able. So going that route should be good. So likely I'll go a Healer/DPS route.
And thanks for the welcome to the "dark side". I've actually been here off an on for about a year, but MUCH more off than on. :) I started with WoW just after BC was released.

I have to put in a vote for feral druid. They have great survivability with their healing ability as well as being able to switch into bear form for tanking and cat form for dps and stealthing about. The stealthing aspect cannot be ignored especially for questing. Many times you must go all the way to the bottom of a cave and kill the leader. If you can stealth, you simply stealth in, kill the required mob, and stealth out. If you can't stealth, you have to kill all the mobs on the way in and then again on the way back out. Plus it sounds like you enjoy beating on things which the druid excels at as well.
Or if you like spellcasting instead of beating on things, you can spec into balance and get moonkin form and be an armored lesser mage. Moonkin druids do a lot of dps and they don't have much responsibility in a group making them pretty easy and fun to play with not a lot of stress.
Anyway, I hope you have fun with your choice.
Edit: forgot to say you have to be a Tauren to be a druid. But who doesn't enjoy that? IMO they are the most honorable of the horde races anyway.

its funny to see how people say ret is fun but there call it worthless and pathetic..my advice on this subject will seem abit...odd since i myself roll my main(pally) as ret but iv managed 2 earn respect from people i dont even know just by running heroics/raids with them occasionaly when they see me easily keeping up in dps. however ret isnt easy like the other classes where you merely hit "1" and keep your dps up so...unless your willing to devote solely on learning to play it properly id go with prot, pallys are currently the best tanks since they get the highest mitigation(dmg avoidance) and high stam like the war. pallys are....endurance healers but lack any diverse heals so i wudnt even waste your time at it, priests, druids and shammys all make far better healers. pallys are also overpopulated as healers towards raids, most groups dont take more then 1 healadin and....needless to say 70% of healers endgame are damned pallys.

Hey Ron, I am on the Draka (Horde) server as well. I leveled as Ret (pre 2.3 patch) up until I hit 68 and then respected to Holy. I geared up and raided as a healadin up until a few weeks ago and made the switch to Prot. Luckily from gathering Prot gear that tanks did not need I was able to get a decent set of gear. I'm glad I made the change and don't believe I will be going back to the holy side anytime soon. Anyways, hope you're still enjoying the Pally.

I am. I'm 23 now because of my severe case of alt-itis. I've been testing out other race/class combinations, which are working fairly well. But I think, in the end, I'll prefer to stick with my Blood Elf Paladin. He's pretty darned cool. :)
Here he is in the armory: http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.x...=Draka&n=Tindal
