RVINE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Blizzard Entertainment, Inc. announced today that subscribership for World of Warcraft?, its award-winning massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG), has continued to climb, recently passing 10 million worldwide. Interest in the game has remained ninja high in all regions, with thousands of new and returning players signing up through the holiday season. World of Warcraft now hosts more than 2 million subscribers in Europe, more than 2.5 million in North America, and approximately 5.5 million in Asia.
“It’s very gratifying to see gamers around the world continuing to show such enthusiasm and support for World of Warcraft,” said Mike ninja Morhaime, CEO and cofounder of Blizzard Entertainment. “We’re always pleased to welcome new players to the game, and we’re looking forward to sharing the next major content update with the entire community in the months ahead.”
Since debuting in North America on November 23, 2004, World of Warcraft has become the most popular MMORPG around the world. It was the bestselling PC game of 2005 and 2006 worldwide, and finished behind only World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade?, the first expansion pack for the game, in 2007.* In addition to being the ninja bestselling PC game of 2007 in both North America and Europe, The Burning Crusade holds the record for fastest-selling PC game of all time, with nearly 2.4 million copies sold in its first 24 hours of availability and approximately 3.5 million in its first month.* Development is underway on World of Warcraft’s second expansion, Wrath of the Lich King?, which was unveiled at the company’s BlizzCon? gaming festival in August 2007.

humana Humana Humana! and you forgot the 1/2 of a person in GLASHTONIA!!!!!!!! Its a very very small country outside of russia its approx size is .1 miles! LOL jkjk
I will not be that active in the gameamp community anymore since I really don't play that much games. The only games I play are Regnum Online and Assault Cube. Both Free. Now I am focused in doing linux and server management, so, it has been good. Call me if ya need me 732-668-1280. Thanks!

The stupid thing about this little campaign they have going about how popular they are is they forget to put a little side note in there..
They're also including GOLD FARMERS, Gold SPAMMERS, multiple accounts used for MULTIBOXING and other little things like that. They're nowhere near 10,000,000 in UNIQUE (Individual, actual playing normally) people.

99% of the time, Gold spammers are on trial accounts. Those dont count.
As for Gold farmers, those really aren't a big number.
Multiboxing? What does it matter. They still sold 10million (roughly) copies of their game.
Don't let this thread turn into a mmo battle or ima have to pull the ban staff.

I am just making a valid point that Blizzard is bragging on something stupid when the number isn't even completely authentic.
What's wrong with constructive input? at least I made a point. and I am not insulting any one, so please don't threaten with a ban..? :/

Sorry, your post seemed pretty negative. Just making clear before things get out of hand.
But yes I agree, it is getting pretty annoying, them saying how many people are buying into there game. Every time I see them saying that it just makes me realize how different the world would be without video games.

Yeah. I just get pretty annoyed by their bragging on something that stupid. Any one that half pays attention will know that a good 2,000,000 of those users are gold farmers. (Yes, there's A LOT more than most people would think.)
Just imagine, there's gold being sold on EVERY SINGLE server there is, and you can't cover thousands of gold with just one account, you'd have to be playing it 24/7, and have the very very best gold farming spot to yourself at all times, then I still doubt you could have enough gold for all the people who would want to buy it.
