ok i got the game today installed it and set up my ncsoft account but when i go to launch the game it just goes to checking updater and stays that way nothing happens please help

As for your question, they ahve been doing some maintenance to the servers (see the offical boards for more up-to-date info) so it may be possible that could be the problem. I'd say, first off, just wait a bit, and try it later. The game requires patches/issue updates to it, so it logs into the main site to do so, if it is down due to this mainteanance, you will not be able to get in.
Also, just to double-check, is your computer hooked on-line to the internet? This is an On-Line MMORPG, just a reminder, since that might be an issue...

thanks it working now but when i go to make a hero the create mode is split in half and and black and white i dunno why

You probably need to update your video drivers. If you know what kind of video card you have, you can go to the manufacturer's website to get updated drivers. If you don't know, post the make and model of the computer and we'll see what we can find for you.

Go to that link.
Pick your operating system (Windows Vista, XP, 2000, whatever)
You'll get a list of available drivers.
Pick the NVidia GeForce Series Video Driver.
There should be a link to automatically download and install it when you click. Otherwise, follow the directions.
That should help.
