Tryin to decide between the two. What do you guys think would be better for PvP, Fire/energy blaster or a Broadsword/Regen scrapper?

Depends on how much you like having to chase down your prey.

Do you want survivability with damage, or pure damage?

I just started a fire/em blaster and its definitely a good combo. Really, this just depends on what role you want to take. Fire/Em's usually appear cause destructo and vanish, pretty much have to as they have no inherent defenses. Broad/Regen scraps come in for the burst dmg and can whether the storm, but definitely cannot output it like a blaster can. Scrappers are fun and you can be pretty haphazard about your tactics, but blasters are just that pure havoc unleashed at speed. Just my 2 inf.

They're both pretty damn good in PvP. Obviously the scrapper will have more survivability, but you'll have troubles with opponents that joust. Like your Fire/EM blaster will have to do, lol. I'd say go with the blaster first, to better learn the ways of jousting, and how to counter it. (Watch how your enemies manage to hit you!) Once you are good at that, then switch to the scrapper and use what you've learned to lay the smackdown on other squishies. =D

Yeah the two both have very different play styles, blasters seem a lot more strategic. So i guess the question is do i want to chase or do i want to run (joust). With /energy though this would allow the blaster to do pretty good dmg in melee range, so if a another melee class did "catch" you, you could unload on him? I guess i'll just have to try both out and see what style i like more.
