| Computer turns off after several seconds |
|
|
|
When I run GW, I can get as far as the login screen but then after a few seconds my computer will either turn off or give me the BSOD.
I think the last time I played it was about a week ago, worked fine. Ive checked the GW technical support page and just wanted to see if anyone here could help before I bothered PlayNC.
Anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance.
EDIT: Seems to have stopped on the 5th try, how random.

This happened to me for a while when I upgraded my computer with more ram, gfx card, and a new monitor.. It only happened once or twice a day to me, and than after a month or so, it just went away.

I had that issue once where my on board sound had somehow got enabled and my sound cvard was to. They were conflicting with each other. Anyhow, when I disabled the on board sound again, it never happened again.

yeah, from what i've read here and my experience it is because your computer gets too hot. you can buy little fans which you can place easily in your computer, these are very cheap and work wonders. 2 of them should work just fine ;)

My brothers comp keeps rebooting every 5mins, but it's so old that it might be something other than cooling system. Anyways has a new comp these days.

Becouse dear RevBudGreen.. Why do it tomorrow while you can do it today. |
If you look at that statement what it really means is to think about what your saying and treat people the way you want to be treated. Something I haven't been very good at lately.
I'm assuming that you are being silly, but it case you are not, it is not meant to offend anyone.

If your computer is old its likely that it has built up a lot of dust inside.
Buy a can of compressed air or have a go at it with ear-buds, making sure you clean the fans as best as you can. Whatever you do, don't use a vacuum cleaner.

You know, it might actually help to know what the error message in the Blue Screen of Death is showing. It's the OS giving you a warning as to what's going on with it's final, dying breath.
Might have bearing on the matter, even if it is cryptic.
You'd be surprised how unique and thereby google-able they are.
A search for a BSoD error message often leads to pages with a what's going on and a how to fix it, as the top results and a bunch of speculation threads like these as runnerups.
