1g/hour + easy weaponsmith exp + GM farmer in < 6 hours + 600s

Thought I'd document this with the Gameamp community, I've been recently using farming to gain profits of 800-1000s/hour.

Farming is the cheapest profession to gain experience in, and all it takes is around 6 hours and 600 silver to achieve grand master status.

To begin, take your character to Michael Delving, and then head north east to Hobbiton-Bywater. Your char can be any level (roll an alt?) but make sure they already have a vocation associated with farming. I'd personally suggest a Historian as they can use farming for really good weaponsmith exp.

From Hobbiton-Bywater, cross the river to the north, and you should see fields on your right, these will be your new home for the next few hours. =) All you need to do now is follow the standard recipes given to you for farming until you get to master artisan, it's really quite simple.

A few tips on the process:
  • Make sure to buy better tools from the novice farmhand, or even better ones from the AH if you are level 15+
  • Don't harvest your fields it's a huge waste of time and it won't save you much money. Also if you're just planting the fields you can go afk.
  • Follow the standard recipes that you get, as you gain each tier, don't bother buying any new recipes, to maximise profit.
  • Superior farmland is found to the east of the usual fields, and the expert ingredients can be bought from the expert farmhand near the road.
  • Press and hold the shift key to buy materials in stacks.

After a few hours of planting, you should get to Grand Master Farmer with relative ease, but explaining that wasn't the real purpose of this guide.

Making the money!

An important note here is, you only need master artisan for making the best money, so I'm hoping you've read the whole guide before you may have done some unnecessary grinding.

To make the cash you're gonna be harvesting Winter Barley fields, you may have just alt tabbed and checked to see where the recipe is. You won't have it until you buy it from the Expert Farmhand, so head there asap!

When buying the ingredients you need to make sure to buy the critical success item: Soil of Lorien, and similarly it's essential you use this (tick the box on the mastery options tab) when making your Winter Barley fields.

Just make and harvest as many fields as you can, and the item you're after is a critical success item that you get ~30% of the time, called a 'Bundle of Straw'.

What's so special about them? Well they sell in stacks of 50 (around 1 hours work) for 800-1000s, which is really good, almost fail safe, money.
Why do they sell? Well if you took my previous advice and rolled a Historian, you can use bundles of straw for tier 3, 4 and 5 lure trap recipes if you're a weaponsmith. This is awesome because it's the only (to my knowledge) recipe that doesn't require node grinding because the lure trap recipes only require straw and items bought from a npc.

So with all those stacks of blond goodness you can either sell them and make a bomb, or you could use them to level a weaponsmith really efficiently.

According to my calculations, you could do 19 hours of grinding in this way, and have straw enough to get to GM via lure traps...get going! =)

Hope you enjoyed the guide, may your paths find you safely.

Excellent guide. Works very well, and an easy way of becoming GM weaponsmith.

You're well excused, cause the game hasn't been out for a year yet :)
