Did anyone hear anything already?
I head something of nerfing Power Leak. Steals only 5 nrg at 14 Domination. Not sure though, I don't use mesmer a lot ^^

The enemy loses 4 energy at 12 dom, so I reckon that Power Leak is nerfed.

Canthan New Year

* Made preparations for the Canthan New Year's Festival, which begins at Noon Pacific (-8 GMT), February 8, 2008, and runs until Noon Pacific, February 11, 2008.


Party Animal Title Track

* Added the Party Animal title track and support for it in the Hall of Monuments. Players can gain points toward the Party Animal title by using various festive items, including Bottle Rockets, Champagne Poppers, Sparklers, Ghost-in-the-Boxes, Squash Serums, Snowman Summoners, Beetle Juice Tonics, Yuletide Tonics, and Transmogrifier Tonics.


Skill Updates

We will evaluate the following changes this week. Additional adjustments may be made during that time.

All

* Decreased the variance in trebuchet impacts in GvG by reducing the target deviation and increasing the area-of-effect.
* Health sacrifice now displays as a skill cost.


Victory or Death

* Victory or Death: increased the damage to 25%.
* NPCs receive an additional 5% damage bonus each minute after Victory or Death.
* Added "Victory is Ours," a new GvG feature that activates at the same time as Victory or Death, giving players on the team with the most NPCs a 15% damage increase.
* Archers now stand farther apart at Victory or Death.
* Trebuchets no longer work after Victory or Death.
* The Bodyguard and Guild Thief now receive a smaller damage bonus than other NPCs at Victory or Death.


Mesmer

* Power Leak: decreased target foe's Energy loss to 1..5.
* Clumsiness: increased casting time to 2 seconds; increased recharge time to 10 seconds; now affects adjacent foes.
* Ether Feast: increased healing to 20..50 Health per Energy lost by target.
* Hex Breaker: changed skill type from stance to skill.
* Ineptitude: decreased duration to 4 seconds.
* Wandering Eye: decreased duration to 4 seconds; increased casting time to 2 seconds, increased recharge time to 10 seconds; increased damage to 10..92.
* Drain Enchantment: decreased Energy cost to 5 Energy; decreased Energy gain to 8..13 Energy.


Necromancer

* Hexer's Vigor: decreased casting time to .25 seconds.
* Chilblains: increased number of enchantments removed to 1..2.
* Plague Touch: increased number of conditions transferred to 1..3.
* Blood is Power: decreased Energy cost to 1.
* Wallow's Bite: decreased Energy cost to 1.
* Touch of Agony: decreased Energy cost to 1.
* Dark Pact: decreased Energy cost to 1.
* Demonic Flesh: decreased Energy cost to 1.
* Blood Renewal: decreased Energy cost to 1.
* Blood Ritual: decreased Energy cost to 5.
* Offering of Blood: decreased Energy cost to 1.


Monk

* Light of Deliverance: decreased casting time to 1 second; increased recharge time to 10 seconds.
* Heal Party: decreased casting time to 1 second; decreased healing to 30..75 Health.
* Divine Healing/Heaven's Delight: decreased Energy cost to 5; decreased casting time to 1 second; decreased recharge to 15 seconds; decreased healing to 15..60 Health.


Elementalist

* Glyph of Restoration: now affects the next two spells.
* Deep Freeze: decreased casting time to 2 seconds.
* Whirlwind/Teinai's Wind: decreased Energy cost to 5.
* Glyph of Energy: decreased recharge to 7 seconds.


Warrior

* Healing Signet: increased Health gain to 62..152.
* Lion's Comfort: increased healing to 40..100 Health; increased Health gain per Tactics rank to 7.


Ranger

* Troll Unguent: increased duration to 13 seconds.


Dervish

* Avatar of Grenth: duration increased to 10..90 seconds; functionality changed to: "For 10..90 seconds, you cannot be blocked by enchanted foes, and your attacks deal cold damage. This skill is disabled for 120 seconds."
* Mystic Regeneration: Health regeneration is now capped at 3 enchantments.
* Pious Assault: increased activation time to .75.


Paragon

* Mending Refrain: decreased Energy cost to 5; decreased Health regeneration to 2..3.
* Song of Restoration: increased healing to 45..90 Health.


Ritualist

* Protective Was Kaolai: decreased recharge to 15 seconds.


Bug Fixes

* Fixed a bug with a pathing issue in The Dragon's Lair outpost.
* Fixed a bug with a pathing issue in the Eastern Frontier.
* Burol Ironfist in Boreal Station will no longer display his Hero tutorial dialogue buttons when he is offering or rewarding his tutorial quest.
* Fixed a bug that caused the skill Meditation of the Reaper to not remove itself properly from Heroes.
* Fixed a bug that caused Devona to spawn in Pockmark Flats after the Replacement Healers quest had been completed.
* Heroes and henchmen will now properly target themselves with the skill Zealous Benediction.
* Heroes and henchmen will now properly target themselves with the skill Dismiss Condition.
* Players will not die because of life loss from a vampiric weapon during the Rollerbeetle Racing festival game.
* Fixed a bug that caused a Hero to cancel and then re-activate a skill if manually ordered to use it.


Miscellaneous

* Corrected the crafting costs on two of the Elite Canthan Masks sold by armorer Koumei on the Divine Path.
* Changed the item boxes in Rollerbeetle Racing to only be collectible once per player.
* Added additional base defenders to the Alliance Battles.
* The Xunlai Tournament House NPC now offers prizes for January and can be found in the Great Temple of Balthazar, Lion's Arch, Kaineng Center, and Kamadan.

This seems to me like they put every skill in the game into a hat, and pulled out random ones, then said, hey what can we do to screw this up? Example: Power Leak getting nerfed, Offering getting buffed, Ancestor's Rage untouched.

C'mon, you cannot argue that this update was bad, I find it impossible to do so tbh, the pros outweighs the cons by far.

My biggest questions are how hard it will be to kill stuff in GvG now before VoD, and also wondering what was the point with the buff to blood magic...

Grenth looks interesting now, but I don't know if I'll use it...

I thought energy cost to 1 was casting time.. this are the first 1 nrg skills.. that's like nothing O.o
What if they made Orison of Leetness 1 nrg. You could spam spam spam without getting in any nrg trouble. W/N can own now too and Touch rangers will become even more.. why did they buffed that skill in stead of nerfing it >.<

Well at least they give me a reason to get rid of ghosts, snowmen and other stuff blocking my storage up.

I'd also like to point out necros got buffed and mesmers got slashed up with ha chainsaw and then stabbed over and over again.

Other than that, seems fine.

Now my mesmer will not see as many hours played on him as i usually do.

        * Trebuchets no longer work after Victory or Death.random as hell
        * The Bodyguard and Guild Thief now receive a smaller damage bonus than other NPCs at Victory or Death. Also seems completely random


    Mesmer

        * Ineptitude: decreased duration to 4 seconds. good
        * Wandering Eye: decreased duration to 4 seconds; increased casting time to 2 seconds, increased recharge time to 10 seconds; increased damage to 10..92. good, a nerf to a skill that promotes boring play
        * Drain Enchantment: decreased Energy cost to 5 Energy; decreased Energy gain to 8..13 Energy. pointless really


    Necromancer

        * Hexer's Vigor: decreased casting time to .25 seconds. yay let's promote hexes! bad
        * Chilblains: increased number of enchantments removed to 1..2. good
        * Plague Touch: increased number of conditions transferred to 1..3. still no real point in using it so bad

        * Wallow's Bite: decreased Energy cost to 1. still pretty crap so pointless
        * Touch of Agony: decreased Energy cost to 1. seriously, stop it. 1 energy cost is just stupid.
        * Dark Pact: decreased Energy cost to 1. see above
        * Demonic Flesh: decreased Energy cost to 1. and again
        * Blood Renewal: decreased Energy cost to 1. and again
        * Blood Ritual: decreased Energy cost to 5. good
        * Offering of Blood: decreased Energy cost to 1. Seriously, what the hell? This was nerfed for being too good, possibly the second worst change out of the lot (after p-leak)


    Monk

        * Heal Party: decreased casting time to 1 second; decreased healing to 30..75 Health. can you say redundancy?
        * Divine Healing/Heaven's Delight: decreased Energy cost to 5; decreased casting time to 1 second; decreased recharge to 15 seconds; decreased healing to 15..60 Health. still too high a recharge to be worth it, so pointless


    Elementalist

        * Glyph of Restoration: now affects the next two spells. still a bad skill so pointless[/colot]
        * Deep Freeze: decreased casting time to 2 seconds. [color=red]bad, it was fine before

        * Whirlwind/Teinai's Wind: decreased Energy cost to 5. good for monks, pointless otherwise
        * Glyph of Energy: decreased recharge to 7 seconds. good maybe? Depending on how well it powers out big skills - time will tell


    Warrior

        * Healing Signet: increased Health gain to 62..152. nice try - this is only going to benefit the people that use it already
        * Lion's Comfort: increased healing to 40..100 Health; increased Health gain per Tactics rank to 7.see above


    Ranger

    Dervish

        * Pious Assault: increased activation time to .75. Good, but wtf were they thinking making it 1/2 anyway?


    Paragon

        * Mending Refrain: decreased Energy cost to 5; decreased Health regeneration to 2..3. pointless
        * Song of Restoration: increased healing to 45..90 Health. Looks like they want paragons to see more play - look forward to more shields up and watch yourself


    Ritualist

        * Protective Was Kaolai: decreased recharge to 15 seconds. good


  


The amount of pointless changes just makes it seem like they're mucking about and don't really care anymore.

ty anet for that siege nerf god damn it was annoying being pushed back into your base right before VoD then sitting helpless while your npc's are blown to shit. and this victory is ours is going to be very interesting as well although it may just mean people are going to turtle or have 1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1 splits

Clumsiness is going to be fun to make builds around, ineptitude down to 4 seconds makes me Q_Q tho
Drain enchant 5 energy 13 regain, i cant argue with that
Power leak...hmm only 5 energy drain, still useable i s'pose
the mystic regen nerf is unfortunate but meh

Necromancers
F***ING WOW BiP and every other necro skill 1 energy?

Monks
Interesting tweaks to heal party and LoD are interesting dont think you'll be seeing LoD in any high end pvp anytime soon though

Dervish
OMG :D:D:D:D AoG lasts as long as lyssa/balth now and is completely IMBA definately worth loosing efficiency on Mystic Regen for
odd there wasnt a lyssa nerf, those things pump out dmg like its nobodys buisness

Rit
Prot was kaolai...definatelyt helps SWAY a bit, it was good before, its better now

Ranger
Troll unguent, seems a bit random of a buff, extra 3 seconds? lol

Warrior
Healsig/Lions comfort buff, again, seemingly random but maybe to boost ganks?

Paras
Nice SoR boost, mendings nice too, worth the -1 regen

all in all, i like this, going to change PvP ALOT

LoD just needs to be restored completely to it's original form. The VoD changes are interesting, and ridiculously powerful to split builds, I suspect that dR balance will be much more common now than it already was. Sineptitude nerfs are good. AoG is going to be rediculous, derv spike will deal about 2 billion damage that hits through blockway.

Touch rangers don't use sac skills AFAIK. In fact, not much of what is listed there (maybe Plague Touch, though I doubt they'll benefit from the change with 0 to 3 in Curses).
What bugs me with this part of the update is that it makes Masochism kind of pointless.

Also Chilblains still isn't good enough for my taste to consider using it again... I largely preferred the original PBAoE form.

Interesting changes otherwise.

I think allot of those balances are perhaps ment for pve players. That they seem pointless you many may be the result.
Moreover I think they are aimed at new pve players. veterans might forget they exist. OK blood imo is weak for pve < lvl 20, for a secondary prof this energy reduction makes blood useable for them.
troll might be the only healing skill out there for a new player.
Mystic Regeneration well its part of a few farming/running builds the degen outmatched by regen. I also don't think it makes a big difference most of the time as there are caps at each end I believe.
avatar of grenth making guardien pointless? not in pve heck you only see it a few times.
healing sig... yep pretty common place in pve not used in pvp well there not so bad it doesn't affect you. etc

Ether Feast: increased healing to 20..50 Health per Energy lost by target. bad, it still probably won't be used.
well being the first mes self heal I think it will be used. Again by new pve players

not sure if your going to understand what I'm trying to say here but the "pointless" might not be aimed purely at pvp warrior. Its clearly not just the pve players who whine about balance. sry meg but this wasn't posted in pvp forum so I figure I can say about this stuff from my perspective without being ranted at. I'm not trying to slam on your veiws on the skill changes your right from pvp perspective and thats all that exists.
just trying to show that there may have been some thought about this update your clearly not going to understand without empathy and an open mind.

Well, not sure I'm happy with this update.
Only the nerf of power leak is devastating.
I mean, you waste more energy on casting it, then the foe actually loses!? That's really pointless IMO.

The rest is ok, and I'm not having much troubles with it.
