The funniest thing about it is that the music is actually from the "Hinterland's Who's Who?" series that the Canadian Government has and still is putting on. LOVE THE VIDEO! Had forgotten about it...

I'll be sure to check this out when I get home (and have sound). Oh and Brynden: Love your ranger =P It's like a twin from my ranger, only I dyed it silver since there's almost no difference between silver and white dye on that armor. In my avatar it was a little dark, so that's why it looks more grey ;)

Yes ED, I hate spiders. If they don't come out of nowhere and scare me, they are easy to kill..but the ones that pop up out of nowhere are so freaky! I work at a farm during the summer, I'm a gardener, and those kitten spiders hide in the lettuce and everything else, and pop put when I'm just about to pick them, my boss wont let me kill them cuz they eat all the bugs.. I'm not ashamed of my pathetic fear, I think of it as kind of silly but oh well. Laugh all you want ppl, I will laugh too! :D
EDIT~ I didn't have any nightmares! YAY me!

I love that site. It's really helpful for identifying the spider that just scampered across your living room floor.
It's much more informative and less heebie-jeebie inducing than say www.camelspiders.net
>:) *evil laugh* muahahahaha!!!!

In the Middle East, it is widely rumored among American and coalition military forces stationed there that Solifugae will feed on living human flesh. The story goes that the creature will inject some anaesthetizing venom into the exposed skin of its sleeping victim, then feed voraciously, leaving the victim to awaken with a gaping wound. Solifugae, however, do not produce such an anaesthetic, and they do not attack prey larger than themselves unless threatened. Other stories include tales of them leaping into the air, disemboweling camels, screaming, and running alongside moving humvees; all of these tales are dubious. Due to their bizarre appearance many people are startled or even afraid of them. The greatest threat they pose to humans, however, is their bite in self-defense when one tries to handle them. There is no chance of death directly caused by the bite, but, due to the strong muscles of their chelicerae, they can produce a proportionately large, ragged wound that is prone to infection.
Camel spiders get a bad wrap but they are pretty handy in a fight (for their size). allot of them can take on a scorpian and usually win cutting of the scorpiens stinger before it knows whats happened.

isn't there a type of spider that while u sleep, bites ur ear (it's venom is an anesthetic) and then eats it while u sleep, and u don't feel a thing? I remember my dad talking about ppl missing ears when he was in Saudi

well the cammel spider is reputed to eat camels while applying anaesthetic but Rhagodes nigrocinctus was said to have a gland that produced some kind of paralysing liquid. Thing is I'm not so sure there aren't more species than people think but the majority don't have any kind of venom or anaesthetic qualities. paralysing that's different but killing the pain of something while you eat it :/ you would have to shut off its hearing so it couldn't hear you munching away. spider bites like that on flesh make quite allot of noise believe it or not. dunno I could be wrong Im no spider expert, but I believe it was an urban myth a good one tho.
edit also a spider would have a hard time anaesthetizing the whole body and blood would drip off the ear onto the face and that wet blood would wake me up. perhaps thease spiders are rare because people keep waking up when they hear their ears being eaten and bash the spiders.

If I'm stationed in the Middle East, I'm most likely slinging an MP5 or P90. That Camel Spider and whatever it scurries under is gonna be dusted in a 50 round clip. :-p

From what I've read, spiders actually don't chew.
Most spiders capture their prey with webs, yes?
Well after capturing their prey they use toxic to dissolve their tissue and can then slurp the liquified prey.
And I've nerver heard if a spider attacking humans for eating, that's just absurd...

Yahe cammel spiders arent known for their resiliance to mashinegun or semi auto fire good shot they travel about 10 miles an hour and they are pretty small unless your close up. also they recognise moving objects better than people give em credit for. Mainly hunters tho so if you creep up or got night vision scope bah I know nothing about spiders who am I kidding. BTW thanks for being out there, my guess is you don't here that enough.
edit : If a human was tied to 4 steaks over an ant hill ... lets say wood ants or carpenter ants vs if a human was in a cage covered in the egg sacks of 8 cammel spiders who hadn't had any bbq for a week numbers are in favor of the camel spiders... The ants would chew through the pegs first lol. I saw that vid of the "flesh eating ants" you cant see how many of those ants got killed light isn't good enough. The spider was still kicking when they dragged it into the nest... I'm guessing he eats the queen and every other ant there before strolling out 3 weeks later dusting off his spider jacket. Notice at no point does the spider try to run away infact it looks like he is toying with them. "the chances of ant survival are 725 to 1. However I have been known to be wrong, from time to time".

so, you're either in an urban anti-terrorist unit... or a supply-driver / maitenance crew. ;) lol, quite different, which forces btw? hehe, just curious really. hehe, our fam has quite the military history, from axis fam and allied fam in WWII, to westpoint schooling leading in to vietnam, the gulf war, and that's where it ended because i didn't join up with anything because getting into flying a frontline fighter is near impossible here now and flying transport and heli's imho would suck, and being on the ground is well, not a place i'd want to be seeing as pilots/planes is really our history. ;) (that and if it was a cause such as WWII, i might be OK with dying, but i'm not willing to put my life on the line for today's military situations and politics that go along with)
anyway that talk above is boring, people were talking about Camel Spiders before,
most of the stories about them are BS, yea they can take a scorpian out, but only a small one, (i've watch the YouTube fights on the scorps vs. camel spiders) flesh eating ants own a camel spider. LOL, it's like the Wee-Turtles in the simpsons, they are simply too many, too quick for willy (the spider) to handle! hehe.
camel spiders arent venomous, they don't scream, they only get about 8 inches big and despite being really aggressive, dont pose a threat to humans. their bites do hurt, but squish factor is on our side. :P

Noooooononono...you're missing the if...the IF! :-p
Although I do have friends that have been out, and came back fortunately. I'm too old to go and my Fiance would kill me before I got to boot camp. :-p
However, I have fired both a P90 and an MP5...there are gun ranges in Michigan that allow you to rent those. ;-)

ohhh! lol, you're not. oh well...
hehe, why an MP5 or P90, those are guns reserved mainly for truckers in that area, tactically they aren't as good as the higher-powered close support weapons, the MP5 and P90 would have a bugger of a time at a distance more than 100-150 yards, in the desert, you need something with a little bit more 'reach' and something that can shoot through a sand-hut and soft walls.
me, i'd want to sling an old school 1940's issue BAR... that or a M60 or the new "SAW". hehe. pref. the BAR, because i've shot one before and they're cool and have a big round. :D that can take down an enemy hiding behind a wall. :P
up close, with a similar length, an AKSU or a Jackhammer. :D hehe.

you perhaps have watched a film (remake) called the fly staring that guy from independance day and umm that girl with the curly hair. yes he will vomit on things to liquify things and many small spiders inject prey with venom combined with acids that disolve the prey into a smoothie... however the larger spiders definately chew... have a look for mouse vs cammel spider on youtube, surprisingly epic battle gg mouse. *warning* not pretty, fluffy and deffinately no rainbow happy candy for the mouse.
