Thats right the creators of The Sims, with master Will Wright have FINALLY announced the release date of the much anticipated SPORE! It is official, September 7, 2008 will be the release date for this amazing game that most of us have been following since e3 '05.
Basic Overview of SPORE:
From the mind of Will Wright, the creator of The Sims, comes SPORE™, an epic journey that takes you from the origin and evolution of life through the development of civilization and technology and eventually all the way into the deepest reaches of outer space.
- Tide Pool Phase
Fight with other creatures and consume them to adjust the form and abilities of your creature. It's survival of the fittest at the most microscopic level.
- Creature Phase
Venture onto land and help your creature learn and evolve with forays away from your nest. The only way to grow is by taking chances!
- Tribal Phase
Instead of controlling an individual creature, you are now caring for an entire tribe. Give them tools and guide their interactions as you upgrade their state of existence.
Civilization Phase
Once your city is established, your creatures begin seeking out and interacting with other cultures. Make contact with an olive branch or a war cry. The goal for your creatures is to conquer the planet.
- Space Phase
The time has come to move on to other worlds in your solar system. Make contact, colonize, or terraform, then venture further to find other solar systems. A 'mission' structure provides new goals in your quest for galactic dominance.

Oh nice! That is going fun. I hope they'll make it as good as it could be and not quickly finish it off like they did with Fable. Not that those two games are related, but they both had this great hype years before release and in the end Fable became just a straight forward RPG. Spore could be really something great and not just another god-mode game.

Yeah, EA has been really slamming us with hopeful titles and tidings. They've even promised to leave Studios alone now and not kill their creativity or the whole thing outright like happened with Westwood.
Most exciting for me right now is Mass Effect coming to PC in May. I'd been looking for ways to fit in an XBOX 360 into my budget but now I don't have to, yay! I might even be done with that in September :-D

Westwood was a good game studio. With games in the Dune saga. Westwood doesnt even have a website anymore.

iv been interested on how well this game will actually fair, it is looking nice but ill never get it for 2 reasons....first im a cheap scape and 2nd its a game id throw at the wall from lack of patience lol

I keep hearing about this, never really looked into it mainly because I ussually don't like games like this. But one of my freinds recently lent me fire emblem (bastard) so i've been hooked on it for quite a while. Yes this may be why i've been so distant lately.
Anyways what systems is spore going to be on?
