OK playing my Emp / Rad defender. Already to 45 and did not choose any epic power. Was wondering if anyone though i should really get an epic or just buy more of my Rad.
I guess I should explain that I have 4 Pool powersets
Flight (hover, fly)
Medicine (aid other, Aid self, Rez)
Fitness (swift, health, stamina)
Teleport (recall friend)
Really consider myself a pure healer but now that all my primary powers are slotted the way I need them, I can afford to slot some of my secondary. So dont know if I should take the last two powers that I will recieve from Epic or just Secondary.
So far from secondary I have:
Neutrino bolt,
Irradiate,
Cosmic burst,
neutron bomb,
atomic blast.
Was thinking If i stay with just secondarys i would take Proton Volley and X ray beam.
but if I went Epic I have not clue what to choose.

Defender Epics are more for specialization than anything else. However, having said that, there are some very beneficial powers to be had as well. Personally, as I have an emp/dark and consider myself a "pure healer" I went with the power mastery set. Largely for power boost, which doubles the effects of everyone of your powers. This includes heals. What would once heal 290 now heals 580... this is great for power healing your tank from a big alpha strike or throwing out buffs (which this doubles the effect of) as well as getting temp inv. for keeping yourself alive. The electric mastery set can be useful as well for power sink which you can use as a mini sapper power... basically, drain a group dry of endurance and they are pretty much useless. Dark mastery is more for the solo artist defender... with soul drain you can deal some definitive dmg and oppressive gloom is great for a melee combatant defense. I am curious though why you chose to go with the medicine pool as speed (hasten) would have allow you to have your primary heals up more frequently (which aren't interuptable and are more powerful, and don't require additional slotting that way). I would suggest dropping medicine and picking up hasten and superspeed. Slot celerity into you superspeed as you will have invisibility which increases survivability in PvE tremendously as you can move in and spam heals without being the primary target. Just some suggestions you may find useful, but definitely explore the epic power sets as there are some great goodies in there... one of the main reasons I don't play villian side to much, no great epics like the heroes have.

Honestly the reasons I took Medicine are.
1) Often being the only healer while everyone else in the party get Clear mind, I use Aid Self for the Resistance on Disoreient.
2) an extra Rez.
Useful on preventing a Team Whipe, or after running my metal legs off to a safe place and recalling friends to me. (more often than not dead cause I dont run till we are close to team wipe)
I do have Geas of the Kind Ones so I understand what you mean about having a quick heals respond. I do have a few unused respecs I could use to try I guess.
Oh and also I have Freebird Stealth on my Hover, so could not have it on SS at the same time.
Early on I tested every Travel power out and while each had their good and bad points, I just keep fly, for me it is the one I will always have.
But like I said, I have like 5 unused respecs for this toon, so might try it and see, can alway respec out later if I dont like it.
Thanks for your input.

No prob, glad to offer it. Just throwing out some ideas in case you hadn't thought of them. I also did the freebird+flight thing but with superspeeds natural stealth, it basically equates to invisibility.
The dual rez thing is nice to have. I'm just a hasten nut, especially on my empath, I slot pretty much every set with the goal of decreasing my recharge to maximize my healing output.
