Here's the deal, I want to purchase a next gen system and from my research and personal experiance I want either a Wii or a 360, but I can't decide which one. Could anyone help me with this?

Depends :) If youre a Casual gamer that likes trivia games, Sports or stuff along those lines id get a Wii. If youre a heavy gamer like me and like Shooters,Adventure games and stuff like that id get a 360. Myself, im not too fond of either system. ive gone through 4 360's all of em the motor burned out within a week. Wii seems to family friendly for me :P Ive got a Ps3 and lovin it ^^

I would definitely choose a 360. I have both, got my wii last year, played it for a couple months, then stopped. I haven't stopped playing my 360 cuz of rock band, and halo 3, also rainbow six. I think the wii technology is cool, but the 360 games are more action packed and fun. I got madden for wii, what a failure imo. I'd rather play madden on a 360 just because in that example the technology is cool, but just doesnt work for the purpose.
quit gw for good. end of story.

Well i myself have a 360 HUGE fan of shooters and thats what xbox has most of. My sisters got a Wii and it's great fun, especially multiplayer one thing with the wii i have noticed though is the main thing with the Wii is the novelty and new concept of the controller but once you get past how sweet that is and have it for a month or two it starts to loose a bit of the "shock and awe" value, also from what ive seen there arent alot of great games for wii, while it does have quite a few it seems they all rely on the same tired crap with wiggling the controller two and fro

I would wait on the 360 until they add a blueray player. HD is dead. Wii is ok. I would get a ps3 if I could afford it then get a Wii.

DvD's in HD is really nothing special. Just because it's HD doesn't mean it's the worth the extra money. My friend has a blu ray player and I could seriously not tell the difference when we watched a couple movies. It's not like the difference between a football game in HD and not in HD.

That's not 100% but close =]
Why would you be a Casual Gamer and have the Wii? or be a Core Gamer and have 360?
Although the other stuff you say is true:
Wii is for Sports, Party/Multiple Persons Games, ...
Xbox 360: shooters, Action Adventure games, ...
Whoeps forgot, I'd get the Wii, although shooters can be a b*tch, you gotta love the party games =]

I would get a Wii. I have one and its awesome. You can play a lot of games online against other players for free and you can go on the internet for free. There are also a lot of great games for the Wii. Wii ftw

Thanks everyone. I'm kinda leaning towards the Wii, but considering how hard they are to find around here, I might get a 360 becuase I like Halo and Gears of War and stuff.

I have a wii here
i love it, there are a lot of good games.
it works best multiplayer w/ 4 people in 1 room
but i have a lot of friends w/ a 360.
i love going over and playing halo online so.
With the wii, you have to really pick and choose your games, but it can offer an incredible experience when the games are done right.
(like RE4 and mario strikers)
but it's online play is TRRBL compared to xbox live
(you do play $50/year to use xbox online tho)

I myself have an Xbox 360. I like the action packed shooters and games like that, and the Xbox 360 really does offer better choice for the action lover.

as you can tell from my profile, I live in Bethel, it is a VERY small town close to the border of NH. There are 3 Wal-Marts close to me and they all have the Wii. I am not sure about GameStop and places like that..

Well, your lucky Laidy because here in Nebraska everything is gone. Anywhere you go they're all gone. Wanna buy me one and I'll send you the money? XD

If your the hardcore multi player gamer then you should go with the xbox360 and if your the more casual gamer then get the wii. For me I have both systems and love both of them The only thing wrong with the wii in my opinion is the no multi player(online) but I heard they are working on it.
